If you pay for a subscription with Tesla, you have to use their app to start the charge in order to get a cheaper rate. Otherwise, I think P&C rates are the same as the Tesla app without the subscription. Used to be the Tesla monthly subscription was around $12, not sure what it is now.
Itās the Lectron version if it says Ford. Ford worked with Lectron for this particular version and put their name on it. The Tesla manufactured ones have no obvious branding.
If you do decide to go with A2Z, look for the bundle with their destination adapter. It will come in handy at a hotel with only Tesla L2 chargers. Itās cheaper than purchasing them separately.
Mine is always in the garage and Iām keeping it plugged in due to the cold. May or may not be locked, depending on whether or not I need something from it. Last week I took a nice long ride to Costco (>100 mi round trip). No WiFi. Still waiting for the update.
