  1. Ford hikes prices on Mexico-produced models, citing tariffs

Of course not. And...there is no mechanism for tariffs to enter the U.S. treasury.
  2. Ordered my Car on 3/28! Still no VIN or build date.

I ordered mine Dec. 14, 2021. Received Nov. 3, 2022. Email notification was 7-10 days later than status posted by Ford to my account. That was during COVID so I knew the original delivery date would be extended.
  3. Been shopping for a Mach E for over a year, might pull the trigger this week

Thanks. My fault for not following the standard vs optional features of all Mach-e models.
  4. Been shopping for a Mach E for over a year, might pull the trigger this week

Congrats. Welcome to the forum as an owner. A couple practical items. First, you have not mentioned the battery size, which affects price significantly. For the price you paid I hope you have the extended range battery. Second, Summer is near. You may want to charge overnight when temps are...
  5. Question for the Solar Guru's... 🌞

Knowing the amps is part of the package. I recommend knowing the kiloWatt hours each battery provides.
  6. Question for the Solar Guru's... 🌞

That poster is me. I agree with your assessment of a gasoline generator, whether Honda or another manufacturer. I SHOULD HAVE STATED that a natural gas or propane generator which is supplied by your utility or a large tank. I have used both a 10kW gasoline generator and later both a 17kW - later...
  7. Question for the Solar Guru's... 🌞

Yes, You are getting to the practical phase which now should include the following considerations. In my area the provider was required to submit the solar system proposal to the utility, and receive utility approval. Reason: The utilities can't accept more electrical production than the...
  8. Question for the Solar Guru's... 🌞

I agree with @markboris. Used to live in central Illinois so similar climate, snow and temps as Indiana. I suppose you could pull off snow with a tool like a squeeze if the sun does not melt it off. During warm weather, you could rig some type of tarp system to cover the solar panels ahead of a...
  9. Question for the Solar Guru's... 🌞

Live in Colorado Springs which provides a high number of days to produce electricity from the 16-panel X 350W system of Myers-Berger PV panels using Enphase inverters. Some bullet points: Know how much your local utility allows producing to still receive net metering credit. Ours is 120%. If...
  10. Car Camping : equipment, experience [tl;dr : AWESOME]

Camping is supposed to be 'outside', with a shelter to sleep in is OK but you should expect and experience temperature, humidity and other variations. Now to each their own. Use whatever vehicle you want to maintain comfort. I personally would not call that a camping experience. Growing up my...
  11. SLATE Truck debuts as a modular SUV & Pickup. Priced under $20K with incentive

The gray color is primer? If so then vinyl wraps are REQUIRED. Interesting.
  12. SLATE Truck debuts as a modular SUV & Pickup. Priced under $20K with incentive

I agree. Evaluate all of the accessories and features that need to work. Air bags that are part of additional body panels. Ratchet-down or screw-down body panels that better not rattle. Lights which fuses better power them w/o issues. Headers that better not sag. Fit and finish that better not...
  13. My 2025 Mach-E GT Performance - Black & Bronze Package

I agree both the car and baby are beautiful. I have an eight year old granddaughter who loves the feel being pushed into the back of her seat during acceleration. I tell her "only when safe conditions". Because you are new to the Mach-e, here are a few items you can investigate to keep it and...
  14. Walmart EV Charging Network to Blanket US. First charge experience & review.

I sympathize if that has been your experience. EA has been the best charger system I have experienced. I admit that a few have not worked as well as they should but 99.99% of the time EA has worked great: from Illinois west to CA. I say "Go, Walmart, Go!" Local operations should improve...
  15. Ford Makes Breakthrough with LMR Battery Chemistry: Targeting More Affordable, Long-Range Electric Vehicles by End of Decade

This is at least as good as the popular press articles promoting 'solid state' batteries. The near future is a curious prospect. I'm almost 70 and have read about flying cars in the near future since I was a kid. :D
  16. What'd you name your Mach-E, and why?

Good one. Same color so I named mine ORNGPNY. Surprised that license plate was available in CO.
  17. Quite a trip story!!

Have charged at both Booneville and Sedalia. Glad that you had a positive Ford service experience. Similarly, recently the 'service now' warning light appeared. The dealer in Colorado Springs, Phil Long, was able to get it in, diagnosed and fixed in three days, that included a weekend. The HVBJB...
  18. Quite a trip story!!

We were going to drive from central Illinois to Williamsburg two years ago but decided against because of the dearth of DCFCs through the West Virginia mountains, so we drove our hybrid Fusion. Anyway, PlugShare now shows many more DCFCs along I-64, including Tesla chargers open to non-Teslas...
  19. Superstalk gear shift !

Because integrated into the shift stalk 1PD can be activated/deactivated more dynamically; easier and faster.
  20. Superstalk gear shift !

I promoted on several previous forums that Ford implement a joystick gear shift, similar to the Toyota Prius, which could allow activating/deactivating 1PD mode easily. I have not found a video showing if or how the superstalk shifter allows 1PD mode. Anyone know?
