    It's here! After 3 months of waiting, it's here :) 2025 Mach-E Rally

I have the 2024 Rally, and the handling is magnificent. Acceleration is effortless. I have had occasion to use all of it while turning, and the vehicle dynamics kept the car fully under control. On another occasion, I almost missed a turn on a dirt road, and just a touch of the brake, point...

“Keep your eyes on road” warning

I don't use any of the lane-keeping functions, just adaptive cruise control. I get the alerts with my eyes open and looking straight ahead. I have my hands at 10 and 2, but that makes no difference. Really annoying as Blue Cruise is nice for the few seconds I use it while I am opening a...

Name me an EV SUV/CUV that is definitively better than the Mach E

Comments on the eGMP cars. The 5N is made in South Korea while the other two sold in the US are assembled here. Due to the above, 5N is still CCS while the other two are now J3400. 5 vs EV6, there are differences in packaging that will impact comparisons involving these two options. All that...

    EV Charger Installation Anxiety

I got my MME in July last year. I basically ran it on a 15 A 120 V plug using the Mobile charger for most of that time. This, together with charging at work (50 mile commute), covered my needs. I eventually got an adapter for the welder plug NEMA 10-50 a previous owner installed to the 14-50...

    MERCEDES SUPERCHARGER FAULT

I would try again, but the site is about 3 hours away.

    MERCEDES SUPERCHARGER FAULT

New one for me as well. I have successfully charged at IONNA and MB HPC, but I cannot say for sure if the car was on or off. The IONNA site that failed was the first time that I was not able to charge at all. (No issue as there was an EA and a Tesla site 2 miles away.)

    MERCEDES SUPERCHARGER FAULT

I had a similar issue with an IONNA site. IONNA responded to my report referencing TSB 24-2445. They also said they were working on a solution on their side. Key here is that Mercedes HPC is using the same Alpitronics units as IONNA. I am not sure this is the actual solution, even for my...

    HVB SOH 80%

17K miles and SOH of 99% I charge to 70% at home as I don't need more range and my daily is 20-30% depending on weather. I also do a road trip about every other month, so the BMS sees >90% and <10% regularly. I also don't drive every day, so there is even rest time in the mix.

Received OTA 10.2.0 for 2024 SR RWD Premium

Great to see the Charge Port locked while car locked. I'm not sure how they plan to improve the brake feel as I find it perfect on my '24 Rally.

SLATE Truck debuts as a modular SUV & Pickup. Priced under $20K with incentive

I get your point, but by this argument, we should all be driving Hummers. Neither are an option for me as neither the Hummer nor the Silverado will fit in my garage. As I stated above, I will be interested in the crash test results. My real objection to your earlier statement the claim of NO...

SLATE Truck debuts as a modular SUV & Pickup. Priced under $20K with incentive

I think I saw them address this in one of their videos. I think they mentioned 14" of crumple space, and that is why nothing else is in that space. That said, I am interested in the results from crash tests.

Walmart EV Charging Network to Blanket US. First charge experience & review.

My 2 cents: Walmart is looking to sell electrons to those that are already going to the Walmart. Any of this traffic that draws usage away from the corridor chargers will be good for road trippers. More options widely distributed is good for everyone. As to the delay, Walmart is a...

Finished road trip = question about using the ac and fan

Just a quick note. As soon as there is any question of making the planned charger, slow down. Due to the nature of the power curve relative to speed, a little change at the top of the speed curve has a larger impact than the same change lower down. (The range added by dropping from 80 to 75...

Lower Charge rates at Tesla stations

I have found no noticeable difference in charging at a Supercharger and a CCS charger. Just a note on load sharing. V2 would split between the two posts on the same cabinet. V3 have site-level load sharing and 4 posts per cabinet. V4 cabinets are supposed to have 8 posts per cabinet, but...

OK to drive in ‘L’ full time?

Actually, you have this backward. More energy is recovered than is lost to heat, etc. I see 60-70% recovered in a quick search, and I know this is at least directionally correct. The motor itself is likely in the >95% range, and I know more normal charge cycles are the 75% power-efficient...
