Your car won’t automatically lock when you do that; you have to lock it manually with your fob. If you don’t you’ll come back to an unlocked car! Also it usually honks if you close your trunk and try to walk away.

I have found that the few times it occurs is when I have looked away from the front/windshield view for a short duration. That would include looking at a cell phone or radio screen. So I found that to be a very helpful reminder.

What a huge inconvenience, though, for you. Shouldn’t have happened. Good to know your experience, and remedy.

OH! The dog thing! I get it! I had not seen previous discussions about the item. When I had dogs they would open windows and lock/unlock doors while we were driving! NOW I get it! 🤣 Thanks! (But maybe you could make it black???)

Maybe I’m missing something, but what’s wrong with the way it looks now? What function does that thing serve? It’s not attractive at all. No offense 😒

Why do you even put up with this? It’s ridiculous. It should have ended after they had your car for even one month.

Fortunately, no such problem with mine! (I recently re-booted my entire Fordpass app and that seemed to solve a lot of little glitches, even though it’s a hassle setting things back up). Happy New Year! 🥳

Common problem. Very glitchy feature. On the car screen itself, go into settings and turn the Welcome lights toggle off and on again. Sometimes if your key or phone is kept too close to the car for long periods of time the puddle lights stop working. Or if your 12v battery loses a full...

AUDIBLE blind spot monitoring (not just a blinking light in the side view mirror). That’s a prerequisite for any car I buy.

They are indeed tempermental, and sometimes get un-checked on your settings display. Or they stop working with some updates. Also they can get glitchy if you don’t drive your car often. Keep trying—no wires were cut! Typical dealer response.

I feel your frustration. Sorry this happened. But the encouraging news from your sad story is that at least those of us who have been waiting for an eternity might finally be getting ours.
