I did a short drive to pick up some takeout last night, and my instrument panel decided it was just going to sit on this screen.
If a cop asked me "do you know how fast you were going?", I could've honestly answered "no idea". Thankfully it self-resolved with a power cycle.
I've been considering doing a proactive replacement 12V battery replacement in my MME. I stumbled across this 12V replacement LiFePo battery, but I can't order it because it doesn't ship to Canada (can't even see what the price is). Has anyone tried something like this?
With some of the horror...
This was over about a 20 minute period. I was in slow-moving traffic on a series of long downhill slopes and somehow managed to hit every green light, so never had to fully stop. It's a shame I haven't figured out a way to repeat these conditions on every trip...
(for the Americans out there...
Noticed there were plug and charge options showing up in my car after an update last night, so thought I'd check the app and it appears to be live. Has anyone tried it out yet?
Hi all,
This episode is not as MACH-E focused (although it does make an appearance), but is instead about the various EVs my son and I saw at the 2024 Calgary International Auto Show this past weekend.
It's amazing to see how much variety and competition there is out there now - Tesla, Rivian...
Hi everyone,
I uploaded the sixth episode of Electrically Canadian last night. Of my six subscribers, I think at least two or three are here on this forum, so thought I'd better post it. The content is focused on car performance and efficiency plus DC fast charging in extremely cold weather...
Hi all, looking to see if someone can help me get an OTA update “unstuck”.
Update 23-PU0314-DCM-LAT has regularly failed for about a week now, and each time gives me a few messages. One is on the FordPass App, which tells me the car “needs my help” and that I should refer to the screen in the...
I assume these will be L2 chargers. Curious to see where they’ll put them.

Stumbled across this nifty little tool, so thought I'd share it here.
The tool allows you to compare specific EVs to specific ICE cars and tweak electric rates/gas prices and amount driven per year to give a sense of how much you can save in money and greenhouse gases. I compared our two...
Hi all,
The fourth episode of Electrically Canadian is now available. This one covers our trip this past August from Calgary to Vancouver. If you like dashcam footage of mountain driving and small BC towns, this is the episode for you!
Hi all,
Episode 3 of Electrically Canadian is now available. This is a short one, and follows a trip we took this past summer up to Westlock, Alberta, in the charging desert north of Edmonton. The infrastructure up there definitely leaves a lot to be desired.
Our next episode will be about...
Hi everyone,
I've finally finished assembling the second episode of Electrically Canadian. In this one, my son Sam and I did a long distance circle route road trip this past July, from Calgary, AB down through the Crowsnest Pass, into the interior of BC and back up North through Radium. About...
Hello everyone,
Inspired by Patrick & Liv from the Mach-E Vlog, my family and I decided to set up our own YouTube channel focused primarily on the Canadian experience of owning an EV. We spent the summer gathering footage and have a series of episodes drafted out, the first of which I've posted...
