Haven’t had issues with our MME but our F-150 had pretty significant issues for a while, for maybe three months about half the time the backup camera was blanked out for 60 seconds or so after startup.
Managed to test this today with 100% and an unconditioned battery…shift display changed to L but nothing else happened, so if the battery is full it doesn’t engage harsher regen. Took a few miles of driving before the button did anything.
It definitely does something, as far as I can tell it engages maximum regenerative breaking if the vehicle is in a drive mode like Whisper that doesn’t max it.
I’d be curious to know what happens if you try to engage it in the rare situations where there’s no battery headroom for regenerative...
I have an even more cynical explanation…Ford wanted to recycle an existing part and just used the rotary shifter from one of their other vehicles. While the Mach-E isn’t impacted because it doesn’t have more than one forward gear ratio, all automatic vehicles in the USA that *do* have more than...
No. There’s no mechanism to store or retrieve any of the vehicle camera’s image data on Ford vehicles. The images are displayed or processed locally and then are gone.
Yup. Ford generally follows EU requirements in the UK, even though you’ve left the EU. European Union: Commission Regulation No. 1005/2010 states, “All motor vehicles must have a towing device fitted at the front.” Tow hooks are not required in North America, so Ford omits them on the standard...
Do not expect loaners at Ford. There is no consistency on loaners with Ford. Unless it is a repair Ford authorizes a rental for in the notice (typically only multi day recall/customer satisfaction program jobs) Ford dealers make their own call on if they even have loaners for warranty and...
Is the car parked outside or inside when not in use? And silly question but I gotta ask, did she clean off any ice or snow? Ice moving around in the liftgate area might sound like it was coming from the roof.
Those use simple OBDII dongles, a little square puck (State Farm Beacon) a phone app, or access to the vehicles existing system (FordPass has this capability).
Let’s for a moment assume you aren’t in the middle of a messy divorce or the subject of a criminal investigation by some sloppy cops…
This vehicle was purchased new. Chances are almost 100% it was installed by the dealer. Now, it may have been installed “temporarily,” some dealers have claimed...
Indeed, when our car went in for service this month that required updates in FDRS, it came home with the locking feature. I only noticed it today due to this thread.
I have to agree. As much as they’re saying their experiences at this dealer were positive, after replacement #3 or 4 I’d have taken it somewhere else just in case another tech might see something the first didn’t. You can be the best tech in the world and still miss something. That said, I...
Nearly all Ford dealers I’ve visited with ICE vehicles have tested them as part of the multi-point inspection done as part of an oil change or scheduled service interval anyway, it’s good practice for them as it drums up battery sales that might otherwise go to quick service tire/battery...
Right! After that many failures I strongly suspect the issue with this specific vehicle is downstream from the HVBJB. With that many original -and- revised parts thrown at the problem and a failure each time quickly, that suggests it’s not merely the so/so sizing of the original part. I’m...
Ours just randomly started doing this the other day. Every single start up it’s back to Engage on both keys. Only thing I can think of is that Ford had to disconnect the 12V troubleshooting a stuck module as the last update was on 1/3. It’s been annoying as we’ve been using Whisper for a reason...
