  1. 27 months no updates - what is latest software? Need proof for legal claim.

Have you ever disconnected the 12v battery … wait about 10 minutes and then reconnect it? I ask because, when I received my ā€˜23 I couldn’t activate BlueCruise even though the feature showed as being activated. Ford was able to confirm it was active and also that the car’s modem was on. BUT …...
  2. Ford Charge Station Pro Backordered so a Delay in Ford Power Promise New 2025 mach E Select

When I check the Ford Power Promise page it is still mentioning QMerit.
  3. Ford Charge Station Pro Backordered so a Delay in Ford Power Promise New 2025 mach E Select

The Ford Connected Charge Station and I *think* also the Ford Charge Station Pro are made by Webasto. They have a Ford cosmetic cover with Ford branding on it … but inside it is a Webasto EVSE. I never did understand why they didn’t just give people the Ford Connected Charge Station (48 amp)...
  4. Dual EVSE Recommendations please

Clipper Creek (now Enphase) makes dual-chargers. It’s one EVSE with two charging cords and it shares the load. If only one car is charging then it works like a normal charger. If a 2nd car connects to start charging it divides the load in half. It’s NOT cheap though. They come in different...
  5. Mini rant on DC charging.

EA have a mode they fall into when not everything is working correctly (e.g. the cooling system is not working) but they still have power.. So they fall back to this slow mode where it technically works … but isn’t very fast. Whenever you have an EA station that will only provide around 35kW...
  6. factory-set 5-digit code for keyless entry

It is normally in the glove box. Check the sun visors (it may be tucked into one of the holders on the top or bottom). For my latest car, it would have been in the glove box except that dealer normally pulls the card out and puts it with the paperwork (often they’ll give you a thick envelope...
  7. OK to drive in ‘L’ full time?

I should probably bring up something that I’m not entirely sure everyone understands… Regen isn’t everything and there are times when you really do not want to use it. There is no free energy. When you are stopped (the car has no kinetic energy) and you accelerate, the car takes energy from...
  8. How long will my OEM tires last?

Iā€˜m a bit over 31k miles and the tread looks great. BUT… this REALLY depends on a few factors. 1) proper tire inflation. I have an air compressor in the garage so maintaining tire pressure is no big deal. While some gas stations have air … many (probably most) tire shops also have air. And...
  9. 2025 build delayed

I do not work for Ford, but I do live in Dearborn and know a ton of people at Ford (most of whom are retired these days) and they gave me the inside info on how build scheduling is done. Cars get organized into a build order based on options. For example… back when sunroofs were popular, it...
  10. Are departure time's (preconditioning) really necessary?

You mentioned your car is ā€œgenerally kept above freezingā€. I noticed when the temps are in the 30’s (°F) that the range loss is not very much … usually less than 10%. It’s when it’s much colder (temps in the single digits or teens) and that’s when it’ll make a much bigger difference. I have...
  11. 2021 mach e , dash full of errors and won't start

Once the battery can supply enough power to the various modules, it takes a while before all the modules are powered back up. In my experience … about 20 minutes. I was able to start my car sooner, but still got some error messages about modules that weren’t responding … after about 20 minutes...
  12. 2021 mach e , dash full of errors and won't start

If you own a 12v battery charger suitable for use with AGM batteries AND it can put out 10 amps (a trickle charger wont be enough) you can open the hood, pop out the panels behind and left (charge-port side) of the frunk basin and there are two battery charging posts. One has a red cap covering...
  13. Model Refresh

Major restyling efforts cost money. Years of R&D go into making a totally new model (especially if that model is not on an existing vehicle platform.). Redesigns mean they have to remake the ā€œmachines that make the machinesā€ (new tooling is needed). You want to milk as much as you can before...
  14. Can't trickle charge the 12v battery

Use a regular charger. I do know (from personal experience) that if the battery is low enough for the car to throw errors, a battery tender (in my case a 4 amp rate) wasn’t enough to charge it. I had to switch to a regular charger with a 10 amp rate.
  15. Miles Remaining vs State of Charge

If you open the "This Trip" app (or even just have the tile on your screen) you can see the miles/kWh consumption rate. The range estimate is a guess. It's based on your driving history and/or IF you created a "route" via the Ford Nav screen it will take the speeds and terrain of that route...
  16. First Tesla Charger Charge

You can do either method. I've done both Plug & Charge as well as the Tesla app.
  17. Should I renew or not - Built in Navigation

The key in ā€œconnected navigationā€ is the ā€œconnectedā€ part. Maps are updated as roads are built or changed. It gets real-time traffic and routes around problems, etc. If you allow it to expire and don’t renew, the basic navigation still works … but maps revert to the base-maps and it wont...
  18. Electrician coming on monday to install 220v outlet.....your thoughts

Every wall-mounted EVSE I have seen is configurable … you can set the maximum amperage permitted. On a 50 amp breaker you can configure it to limit charging to 40 amps. If you want 48 amp charging then you’ll need a 60 amp breaker and appropriate wire gauge. (The wire and breaker have to be...
  19. Any way to tell if my 2021 is an extended range by VIN?

Yes. See the VIN decoder on this post: https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/2021-mach-e-mustang-vin-decoder.651/
  20. Announcing: Expanded Charge Settings – Take Control of Your Charge

The feature I _really_ want … is ad-hoc pre-conditioning of the battery pack. I don’t have a daily ā€œscheduleā€ where I need to leave at the same predictable time each day. If I have an appointment at 2pm … I might want to pre-condition the car for say … a 1pm departure. But only for that...
