Thoughts and comparisons to the MachE after driving a Tesla Model 3 over the weekend.

The car is returned now, but as far as I can remember, it I thought it had full autopilot based on the options, including the ability to enable autopilot during navigation. However, the release notes say it is in beta and not meant to be used on local roads.

Gotcha. What I meant is it won't make turns at intersections.

Thoughts and comparisons to the MachE after driving a Tesla Model 3 over the weekend.

The area of NJ I live is overflowing with Teslas of all makes. OTOH, I received my MME in March and haven't seen a second one until a couple weeks ago. So yeah, the Mustang does stand out and I've frequently had people stop me to ask questions about it*. Almost everyone is surprised that it...

Thoughts and comparisons to the MachE after driving a Tesla Model 3 over the weekend.

Doesn't shock me. Granted, my only actual experience with Tesla's build quality is a sample size of 1. But, that combined with lots of similar complaints I came across during research leads me to believe my brother in law's was not a rare isolated case.

Thoughts and comparisons to the MachE after driving a Tesla Model 3 over the weekend.

The last time I drove an autopilot enabled Tesla was shortly after the feature was first rolling out. I'm not sure if it has changed, but there are two things to note: 1. Auto-steering only works on highways right now. It will change lanes and take the correct exits automatically. On regular...

Thoughts and comparisons to the MachE after driving a Tesla Model 3 over the weekend.

He was one of the early adopters of the Model S and reserved one before they were released. They started shipping in mid 2012 if I remember, but his didn't arrive until January or February of 2013.

Thoughts and comparisons to the MachE after driving a Tesla Model 3 over the weekend.

The Mach E is the most comfortable driver seat that I've ever sat in. It feels slightly extra cushiony compared to the rest of the cars I've been in. My wife says the same about the passenger seat. In fact, we both immediately noticed that the first time we sat in our Mustang. I've driven...

Thoughts and comparisons to the MachE after driving a Tesla Model 3 over the weekend.

I was kind of surprised about how choppy the interface is, but again, I leased this knowing it was a 1st gen product and would have lots of room for improvement. One problem Ford faces is that it isn't exactly the kind of company that would attract top talent in terms of UX design and...

Thoughts and comparisons to the MachE after driving a Tesla Model 3 over the weekend.

My brother-in-law/boss has a lemon of a Tesla Model S* he got back in early 2013. Since the thing is frequently in the shop, he gets loaners that he'll let me drive. So far, I've driven multiple Model S, a Model X, and most recently a Model 3. The more recent loaners had autopilot, and the...

I don't know if they changed it after I applied but I received the NJ $5000 rebate check last week.

Apple Maps directions coming to instrument cluster via OTA update

I switched from Google Maps to Apple Maps full time starting last year, and haven't had any problems with it in the NY/NJ/PA areas. It is much better than it was for the first 5 or so years of its life.

Features or quirks you've noticed that you didn't know existed before ownership?

I ended up disabling it since it wasn't particularly good at guessing where I'm going. Also...Car play.

What car did you give up for MME??

Because I have a ridiculously short commute (3 miles) I lease new cars every three years. The 3 previous ones were hybrid or PHEV. From oldest to newest: 4. Hyundai Sonata Turbo (my last ICE car) 3. Ford Fusion Energy (the first hybrid I owned/leased. However, my family business had a Toyota...

    "iTs NoT a MuStAnG!"

I'd say my the majority of encounters have very positive. I've only gotten two negative reactions: 1. Dude working in a car wash got mad at the car as it is not a Real Mustang ™️ and Ford ruined the entire Mustang line. He wasn't mad at me though. 👍 2. Dude in another Mustang sitting at a...

Bummer. I don't really use PAAK, so I'll wait until I need to take it in for something else.
