First repair needed - axle shaft

Axle shafts issues in BEVs are really quite common. Much more so than ICE vehicles. That component is exposed to full torque right away which can be very hard on the part. That part is likely to become heavily developed in the coming years as it is the most likely point of failure in the...

Discovered: GTPE Delivers 5 Seconds of Full Power on Acceleration Then Reduces Battery Power to Limit Heating

The Lightning has MUCH more cooling capacity. It isn't just the battery. The inverter and motors get pretty darn hot as well. That is why it has temp gauges for the IDMs and HVB.

My mach e door trim started falling apart

Yes. The masking for an assembled vehicle is white. I am talking about the clear masking for the part itself. That protects it while in storage and being handled at the factory.

Dealer said they don't have the deposit

Same thing happened to my brother. They didn't credit him the $500 deposit and it was a weekend and the finance guy didn't know how to find the deposit in their system. My brother went back during the week and they gave him a check. The deposit thing throws some dealerships off still...

My mach e door trim started falling apart

Hard to tell from the photo.....is the clear protective film still applied? Should have been removed at the dealership during the prep or perhaps even the factory. I would call those exterior "B" pillar trim covers.

Dealer said they don't have the deposit

Ford Motor Company does not collect funds in the dealer's name. If the card statement shows the dealers name then the money went to the dealership.

No Remote Start When Car is Asleep?

Does anyone know if there is a way to determine when the vehicle is asleep and if there are various levels? (Sleep, deep sleep etc...)? As far as I can tell, my car wakes up to perform all scheduled or remote functions except for departure times and battery cooling. If the car is asleep. It...

Discovered: GTPE Delivers 5 Seconds of Full Power on Acceleration Then Reduces Battery Power to Limit Heating

Yep. Some people don't care. That is what Hot Rodding is all about. Mopar requires a bunch of overrides to unlock full power and people still do it. We played with IPW and boost tables on Powerstrokes until we windowed the block or lifted the heads. You have to pay if you want to play. :)

Discovered: GTPE Delivers 5 Seconds of Full Power on Acceleration Then Reduces Battery Power to Limit Heating

When bracket racing, a car capable of a higher trap speed has an advantage because they stay ahead of the other car without risking breaking out of their dial in time. When racing heads up, a higher trap speed means there are gains to be found in the 60 ft times which is usually related to...

Discovered: GTPE Delivers 5 Seconds of Full Power on Acceleration Then Reduces Battery Power to Limit Heating

Just a matter of time before folks figure out how to recalibrate the modules to allow full power for longer bursts.

GT and GTPE brakes are NOT the same?

That is a cool photo. I've always wondered why some models have the calipers on the rear and some on the forward edge....some at 2 o'clock, some at 10 o'clock etc. The rear calipers on many of our F series vehicles are staggered. One on front, one on rear. I assumed that was to help with...

GT and GTPE brakes are NOT the same?

Oh yeah. Didn't register in my head the first time. There is no way that spec sheet can possibly be accurate. Those rotor sizes are totally inappropriate for the wheel size. Well, perhaps the caliper type is accurate, 4 piston front and single piston rear?. That might be wrong too. This...

GT and GTPE brakes are NOT the same?

Okay thanks. So, it sounds like the OP doesn't have a car to measure for himself yet? And it sounds like someone has confirmed the dust shield is the same for all models? And nobody has looked at the rear rotors of a GT yet? If the GT has the same front brakes as the other non-PE models then...

GT and GTPE brakes are NOT the same?

If I read the technical documents correctly. It appears the Select, CR1 and Premiums (including FE) have 18" rotors front and 17" rear. GT and GTPE show as having 19" rotors front and rear. Are owners observing something different? I looked at the photos posted earlier but I don't know...

How often do you have to reboot large screen?

Doesn't sound normal. I have had to reset mine about 3 times in 7 1/2 months.

    Come on Ford!

Agree. I test drove Tesla vehicles and I much more prefer Sync4A. I did like Tesla's bird's eye representation of the car and it's surroundings but not enough to overcome all the great features of SYNC4A. As a fleet customer with some buying power, I sometimes get to have my voice heard by...

Easiest way for a guest/passenger to play their music through the audio system

I think all they do it touch CarPlay tile and then select their phone from the list? I think that is how my wife, kids and coworkers do it. My wife's phone is saved in the settings but the other phones aren't........at least not that I know about. To be honest, I didn't really pay...

    1.7.1 Poll

I checked. It says system is up to date with most recent being Ford Power-Up 1.6.0. I am guessing I don't need the other ones?

Will we ever get sentry mode equivalent? Does anyone have a good reason why not?

My wife would pay for it. That was really the only reason she considered a Tesla. Then again, she would install 4 or 5 locks on the front door if I would let her. Her favorite place in the hardware store is the lock section. I can hear the angels singing in her head when she goes down...
