  1. Stunning How Ford Dealers are sabotaging the success of the brand....

Exactly. At worst, the dealer would tell the customer that they could order one at MSRP and wait several months for delivery, which appears to be what many dealers are doing.
  2. Stunning How Ford Dealers are sabotaging the success of the brand....

The economics make sense, right now, because Ford isn’t worried about Tesla stealing their sales. Losing out on some Mach-E sales isn’t ideal for Ford but surely they make it up on the back end. They’ve been selling Raptors, certain Mustangs, and other vehicles at well over MSRP for years now...
  3. My GT does not have a front camera WTF

Yep, Vroom and Carmax have been giving out truly crazy appraisals. I paid 49,500 out the door for my select and sold it for 49,000 when my premium order came in…but still get the tax credit. Carmax doesn’t have a single GT available in the whole country right now so you might get a whopper of an...
  4. PSA - DO NOT UPDATE to 3.35.0 on Android if using PaaK without a FOB

Problem is that I live in Portland, Oregon, where the chances of getting my car broken into are extremely high. Surely I’m not the only one who lives in a city with rampant car break-ins. Sucks to have to replace a window but it’ll suck a lot more when they open the faraday bag and steal my car...
  5. PSA - DO NOT UPDATE to 3.35.0 on Android if using PaaK without a FOB

Not a huge challenge, true. But there are plenty of good reasons I, and many others, don’t want to carry a key fob. Some of them are situation-specific, such as while going on a run. This isn’t a cheap car designed to get me from point A to point B, it’s a relatively high end mainstream consumer...
  6. -35F\-37C Real World Mach-E Range Test. What could go wrong?

Fantastic post and experiment. Thank you for doing it!
  7. Ariya reservations

The Platinum+ with 4.8 seconds, 265 miles, and AWD is the closest competitor to the Mach E but is about $2,500 more than the Premium AWD ER. Those other trims that are 50k+ with 7.2 seconds and FWD seem like a horrible value though.
  8. Resale price?

I just sold a select AWD standard range, 2500 miles, with the comfort and appearance package to CarMax for $49000. Vroom offered $46,099 and Carvana $45,000. CarMax worker told me they sell them almost immediately upon getting them.
  9. Hardwired vs plugged charger. Which way to go?

Yes, some jurisdictions require it and the nuisance tripping is a possibility. If you hardwire, I think most quality chargers have a GFCI built in (ChargePoint home flex does, at least). Depending on your jurisdiction, that might be the only way to avoid using a GFCI breaker.
  10. All I want for Christmas is.. a functional front trunk button.

It does. I accidentally did after I picked mine up. It’s a nice surprise!
  11. Hardwired vs plugged charger. Which way to go?

It’s about a $275 job in many cases. The lowest quote I could get in Portland, Oregon was $1,200 before permit fees for a proper run or he would do it for $700-800 before permits right below the panel. That’s literally a 30 minute job for an experienced electrician. Like another commenter said...
  12. Who has the oldest reservation and no car?

I think standard range selects and premiums are being built pretty quick. I ordered a standard range premium on 8-4-2021 and took delivery on 11-12-2021 in Oregon. Original build estimate was like 26 weeks or something. The extended range models seem to be taking an absurd amount of time.
  13. Star White Premium De-Baged & Tinted

Nothing against star white, but I think the space white is my favorite. It looks so unique in person.
  14. First week with GTPE, it was not over-hyped

I only have a premium AWD but think the passing ability on the highway is excellent. Acceleration is nearly instant. I was coming from a Subaru Outback with a 4 cyl with a blistering 174 HP so I guess it’s all relative, however. Compared to a GT500 or something I bet the GTPE isn’t as...
  15. Hot or Not?

I’m a fan! If you don’t like it, just peel it off with a heat gun.
  16. The windshield, roof recall went out last nite.

But there’s enough concern that they could that Ford is spending how much money to replace them? I guess you’re right though, Ford is probably just throwing away all that money just to annoy Mach E owners.
  17. The windshield, roof recall went out last nite.

Just got my windshield recall notice too. I remember the Ford salesman explaining how Ford windshields wouldn’t fall out like Teslas when showing me the car. How ironic.
