Mine also did this but I put it down to the EV driving history being reset as part of the updates. It’s done it to me before on previous updates.

I’ve had the back end go on a few occasions and I’m AWD. Scary when you don’t expect it. I’m on Bridgestones which I’ve never liked. I’ll go for Michelin Pilot Sport EVs if I can ever get them

    "System stopped to save battery"

I have this. I do about 3 miles in the morning and 3 miles home in the evening and have this exact issue. I also fully charged my LVB using an MXS 10 charger and it still happens.

New Module Updates in FDRS FE MME from Dec, 2020

Didn’t happen to me when I did mine. I have seen similar oddities before though. If you run the FDRS installer again, one of the options is clear all FDRS Data when it reinstalls over the top. I’ve found that has helped me with previous weird issues.

Graham, I know its a massive pain, but have you tried a master reset. When I did my update using FDRS, I ended up doing a master reset and everything is now hunky dorey....

Software update - what does this mean?

I believe the un-named OTA was an update purely to enable other OTA updates. (Sounds counter intuitive) 1.4.0 was the TCU update 1.6.0 was the GWM update 1.7.1 was the APIM update and 1.8.0 which will be coming is an IPC update.

Have you had OTA 1.7.1? I started having this after updating the APIM. All my modules are fully updated but get this also. Not convinced it’s a 12V issue as I’ve charged mine fully up, and still get it.

The Complete DIY Guide to Updating Your Mach-E with FDRS (Alternative to Forscan)

Just so you know, I have seen the MME draw at least 36A during an update, but yes 30A should be enough to stop the battery going flat. I built my own battery clips using some 8AWG cable.....but I use a 50A HAM supply.

15amp would do you for some of the smaller updates like PCM, but absolutely no chance for IPMA. That takes hours.

    Gear Shift Module Update Available

The one thing I noticed when I did mine, is Sync 4 kept running playing music. Normally it shows "Vehicle Communication error". I wonder if it didn't shut down all the modules properly before doing my update which caused my issue. Usual washing machine noise from the frunk was present during...

    Gear Shift Module Update Available

Ok….I’m saved!! I left the car locked for 10 minutes to let all the modules go to sleep. I’ve just gone out and it is now ok. No nasty scary messages. This is the first module update I’ve done in years where I’ve had to let the car sit for a while. Really I should go clear CMDTCS but I’m not...
