    This morning it was zero degrees at my house and the garage was 47. When I came out at 5:30, my car was clearly pulling juice and I swear it sounded like a pump was moving liquid. I was hoping to see this captured in my ChargePoint log, but only saw a blip at 1:47am and zero PC blip this morning.

    Yes there are lots of places for loss in this analysis. I usually only charge to 70% but have definitely done 100% a few times and recently switched to 80% during the winter because of the range loss. I have yet to do DCFC but that would add a whole new opportunity for loss I think.

    Thanks! Yes, I’m not sure how much is lost between the wall and the ChargePoint, but the Actual Efficiency is taking the CP output and dividing miles by that number so this is as close to a “pump-based mpg calculation” as I can get.

    I have an AWD standard battery. I have been driving hybrids for 16 years before the MME and still practice good brake techniques but I don’t hypermile my MME at all and still get good range. I do usually turn off the heat after dropping my last kid off at school though. 🥶
