A picnic or something would be cool.
I think earth day celebrations had an EV event in West Des Moines, but it'd be neat to do an Mach-E gathering.
Or maybe just crash the ice Mustangs. ;)
Whatever province you are in check the consumer protection act. This has come up over the years in other forums and I’ve read folks mention that most provincial statues up there have a similar protection for having after market parts similar to the Magnuson-Moss act in the US.
Regardless...
We decided on the MME earlier this year after test driving many ICE cars and faced a similar challenge.
Over the course of a week I called over 100 dealers (131 if I recall correctly) in an ever expanding radius of us. I even got to the point where I figured I could car camp in the thing on...
Not the OP but my wife hasn’t pumped gas since 1997… I think that is why she married me! ;)
To the OP…is there a reason to not just keep the order on the books until it comes in, maybe she will have changed her mind or change it when she drives the MME?
I’ve always thought level 1 charging would be safer since the faster the charger the more heat is generated as it slams the electrons into the battery??
Also I’ve read in numerous places maintaining a battery closer to 50% is best so not sure where daily charging is better than not came from in...
Not sure any auto company, or many other companies in other industries, are anywhere close to Apple or Microsoft in rolling out updates. For instance, I don’t think you’d get more than 1 update at a time, at least not bigger ones. So it is an update, then an update in a few X amount of days...
You may already know this but I wish I’d read Page 4 on of https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/attachments/ev_setting_expectations_for_high_voltage_battery_performance-pdf.37815/ is a nice little faq about battery charging.
Basically don’t overthink it/worry about it, realize cold weather cuts out...
Actually if I knew which of the 3-4 dealers near me were signing up for this I’d start taking ours to them to establish a relationship. No guarantee they’d be better, but signing up is at least indicative they are planning for EVs to be mainstream.
Finally found a dealer to hopefully correct my failed OTA recall update... any chance somebody could run my vin to see what updates are still out there / see if the recall is done? Thanks!

How do you know that third party widget is giving you correct insight though?
I feel your pain, we have fordpass on 2 iPhones and 1 iPad and all three show different states of what was the last update applied, none match what the website indicates regarding the update nor do any of those match...
Thanks, did just that. Mike here on the forums did run my VIN and looks like it hasn't been applied yet. I know it isn't as easy as everyone thinks but it'd be nice if owners could have on-demand "update now" buttons on available updates to avoid this waiting and wondering if you are stuck or not.
Could somebody check 3FMTK3SU7MMA64883 ?
My car shows the recall was done even though I had a message it failed, my phone fordpass app reports the last update was 2.8.3 from late July (which was before it said the recall update failed a few days after that), my iPad fordpass app shows the last...
So I’m not the one you responded to but wonder if you have any insights…
- we had an update failed message for the recall and brakes one day, assume the car tried OTA though it was in the middle of the day
- Fordpass App said it’d try again asap but that was a few weeks ago
- App and online...
Nice! Oddly we saw a couple when we were getting ours but haven’t seen any in the Des Moines area for months now. Maybe we just aren’t out enough, lol. What made you go for the Premium over the CR1?
Did you end up with the Torklift and that 150 lbs of ebikes on the hitch and whatever carrier you ended up with? Has it been working well?
My issue isn’t with the 1up supporting that weight of ebikes as their beefier one has hours for a couple of years just fine on a Jeep, but instead with the...
Thanks for your thoughts. What is nice about the steal hitch is the removable receiver for the winter time when we wouldn’t be biking. The EU hitch actually looks removable as well, but of course it is on the other side of the ocean.
But I agree, the stealth hitch isn’t ideal if it is rplacing...
Note on your note….that 165lb (75kg) tongue weight I believe was in the original manual when the tow rate was 750kg. When they boosted the towing capacity in the article you listed to 1000kg nothing was mentioned about boosting the tongue weight but my understanding of trailer pulling is you...
Perhaps those hills I'm stopping on are not big enough to overcome the 1PD braking....when do you find you need to use auto hold above and beyond what 1pd already does?
