  1. Non-EV vehicles taking up chargers

While I agree with you in a true capitalist sense, there are factors such as Transportation Management Plans and other carbon limitations that are required of developers and operators. In turn, they are required to establish programs which incentivize use of carpooling, clean-air vehicles...
  2. Should I Sell

Obviously, you realize the MME is paid off so all it costs you for the next few years is the depreciation on the car. The Merc payment will undoubtedly be significantly more. As you say, you're evaluating this from more than a financial perspective. The Merc is a really nice car - if it's what...
  3. Would you consider a M3 as your second car?

If you leave personal opinions on ownership aside and just compare EV to EV, T car is unquestionably the best EV value.
  4. And so it begins...

I bought a Tesla. Although to be fair I've hit 160 (IIRC) on an EA DCFC when I've nav'd to it in the MME.
  5. And so it begins...

The average owner - I guarantee they don't. I know a lot of EV owners and people like us on the forum are the 1%ers.
  6. And so it begins...

This was my biggest worry driving my daughter's Leaf to LA. Thankfully the CHAdeMO ports were all free and unshared at my stops. Although after learning that the Leaf has no active battery cooling and throttles charge rate to 19kW after the battery heats up following the first DCFC, I suppose...
  7. And so it begins...

While I agree with this in a perfect world, my real life experience is such that those chargers are so unreliable, I'll connect to any one that happens to be working - if it maxes out my charge rate, even better!
  8. Anyone else waiting for pre-programmed APIM?

Once I know what an APIM is, Iā€™ll undoubtedly be waiting anxiously.
  9. šŸ˜¢ It Finally Happened... Wheel met curb

Personally, I'd leave it. It's not a bad rash and there'll be more over time.
  10. Future Mach-Es with a landscape screen orientation?

I prefer the landscape orientation and wish theyā€™d get rid of the driver display. Itā€™s cluttered and you canā€™t see it well through the steering wheel. Much easier to see important info top left corner of the large display and less of a distraction. I do wish theyā€™d get rid of the floating...
  11. Such a slow car!!!

Great features and functionality for a $25k car. At the MMEā€™s price point you should expect more.
  12. Rear ended by 18 year old - minor damage - how many day(s) will this repair take ?

If the damage is that minor, perhaps consider working with the owner of the other car to have them cover repairs out of pocket and not involve insurance. It may be financially beneficial to them to avoid the claim, and maybe you can avoid the incident showing up on a report (I'm not sure if it...
  13. Any one seen this issue? Front Camera Fault Service Required

There's probably a fault with the front camera. You may need to have it serviced.
  14. Navigation preference Ford or Apple?

I can't stand the usability of Ford Maps. I'm a recent convert to Apple Maps from Google Maps following its recent upgrades and EV integrations. If I need to stop at a DCFC I'd switch to Ford Maps 30 minutes out for the preconditioning.
  15. MME Premium 4x to a Model 3 Performance - Now with Updated 5K & 10K Review

Thanks for the detailed write up. Your feelings about the car are very similar to mine. I've driven my 2018 AWD LR for nearly 5 years now and enjoy the heck out of it. I get that we're on an MME forum so there's going to be a lot of hate for the T car, whether it's based out of dislike for...
  16. Ford dealerships and charging

Honestly, I canā€™t think of many places Iā€™d rather charge at less than a dealership. All of the dealers in my area are located away from amenities so Iā€™d be hard pressed to grab some food and use the facilities while charging. Unless god forbid I walk into the dealership and get hounded by...
  17. This sounds like what we should expect from charging stations

Iā€™ve used the Tesla lounge in Kettleman City on several occasions. Great place to stop, put your feet up and grab an espresso.
  18. Picking up an MME on Friday — What are the first things I should do?

Set your seat and mirrors for comfort and visibility.
  19. Range booster? :)

Amateur hour, you need to step up your game to get on par with this guy. Tesla Road Trip
