I have this happen as well. As you describe it happens if I leave the wipers in auto mode and is usually once every day or so with no apparent reason. I would be curious what sensors are used for this or if its just the center windshield camera making determinations and somehow misinterpreting...

I received word today that my car is officially in California. Railcar #TTGX694689 in case anyone else has that car. The assumption is it is in Barstow where there are delays so im not expecting it to get home to NorCal anytime really soon. Not that it matters too much given the recall delay...
