Who received the special TripleCare gift?

Considering all the expenses they’ve covered when they had my car for a week to fix the OTA block, I’m still ahead of the game. Besides that, I’ve got one door ding to get fixed and being in AZ now, the windshield is bound to succumb to rocks sooner or later and a windshield will be in order...

    Optimizing Home Charging for Solar

Below is a pic of my current solar production today in suburban Phoenix on a clear day. System peak production when activated in July was just over 11 kwh. Notice on the graph that I plugged in early this morning to charge and you can see what the impact is on consumption. I have a Grizzl-e...

Grizzl-E Classic Level 2 charger just died

My replacement unit took a week to ship after the shipping label was generated. Plan on the unit taking about a week to deliver since it is originating from Canada.

Roadtrip In Retirement #3 -- IL to AZ 1800 miles (again) July 2022

Our 2nd drive from IL - AZ this year went smooth taking same route and same EA stations over 3 days. Achieved similar numbers as previous trips on same route but obviously better weather in July vs March and May. Average 75-80 MPH, 3.0 mi/kwh driving in Unbridled All segments were ~2+ hours...

Should I buy an L2 home charger, or just use the Ford one that comes with the car?

Lake County IL owner and I installed the Grizzl-e Classic on a 50A circuit pulling 40A. Price and 40A capability were the decision points. Having a connected charger wasn’t important as I charge at night and don’t need the statistics as long as the charge is completed in the morning.

Grizzl-E Classic Level 2 charger just died

I just went through a similar experience with my charger that was purchased in February 2021. My classic charger failed to fully complete a charge and there were many posts that chargers manufactured around this time had similar issues and United Chargers was replacing the devices. I filled out...

BlueCruise Trip Chicago -> St. Louis

I drove from Springfield to Lake Zurich area leaving with 90% and arriving in the garage with 23 miles remaining on the GOM the 2nd week of May. On our trip from IL to AZ in March, I left at 100%, charged in Bloomington, and made it to Collinsville as well driving in rain and wind. When I...

Which Phoenix dealer is recommended for recalls 21B36 PaaK, 21G01 BlueCruise & 22B08 ECM

My purchase dealer in IL has failed to apply these recall updates successfully. On July 20, I'll be on my road trip redux to our home in suburban Phoenix. Hoping the greater Phoenix MME owners will respond with your recommendations based on your experiences having these updates applied. While...

Arizona: ADOT seeking public input for how/where to spend federal funds on EV charging corridors

Thanks for sharing the info. I've completed the survey and plan to join the webcast. Our second home is in Peoria just off 303 and while 2 EA stations are within 30 minutes, having a closer one would be helpful for EV owners who use 303.

    21G01 failure

I just came back from the dealer to schedule my service appointment for all the recall work to the windshields, OTA updates, PAAK, Blue Cruise….five in total. gGrilled the service manager to make sure that they have had success in applying these updates and as well as their outsourcer for the...

FORD MOBILE CHARGER IS NOT MEANT FOR DAILY USE!!!

I bought the Grizzl-e Classic one month before taking delivery of the car in March last year and it’s done me well. Price point and charging speed were the driving factors for purchase. Despite being a career technology professional, I didn’t see the benefit of the software enabled devices...

Roadtrip In Retirement -- Return trip AZ to IL 1800 miles

After spending 6+ weeks (not long enough) in the AZ desert, we packed the car -- Modern Spare, golf clubs, and greyhounds into the electric pony and made the 3 day trip back to NW suburban Chicago. This trip was more eventful than the first trip to avoid forest fires in Las Vegas NM and sudden...

Not charging on 240v, but 120v seems fine

I will be back at our IL home next week and check then. In the meantime, you may be able to find something related to the patch that was given to us in the thread that I quoted earlier.

Not charging on 240v, but 120v seems fine

Quality of commercial deliver not necessarily comparable to residential delivery. My equipment would work at the dealer but not at home. Once the patch was applied, all was well. My symptoms were the same with the charge port lights lit but no blinking. If not already done so, has the Ford...

Road trip advice for Oklahoma toll roads

We made our trip from IL to AZ on March 22-24. While we paid at manned toll booths, we also encountered 2 locations where the manned lanes were closed. On Monday May 2 an invoice showed up for the 2 locations that caught our license plates on camera. No late fees were applied. Expect to do...
