We didn't make it all the way out there today, but we did drive to Santa Ysabel and picked up a pie. We also tried our NACS adapter with the Tesla Supercharger there.
We are joining up with SoCal EVs & Tesla Club SoCal for EV FEST!!!
And since it is also the 60th Anniversary of the Mustang, we will be celebrating with our electric Mustangs! We'll have a special section reserved for Mustang Mach-Es!

No I have no info on that.
I really hope they add the V2/V3 stations and just make it clear to people that we can only use the V3 stalls. The problem is that they aren't labeled and look really similar.
The Tesla Superchargers we can use aren't currently in the Ford Nav system. You can find them in the Charge Assist app which is being renamed to Public Charging. The Superchargers will be added to the nav system "later this year."
Although it makes things a bit complicated right now, I don't...
We did that because Superchargers don't have screens so that is the only way to do it. For most people that are plugging in and want to make sure their car is charging before they walk away, this is the way they'd have to do it. In reality, most of us would also wait to see if it was ramping up...
LOL, maybe we should stop reviewing other cars like the Bolt and GV70 Electrified!
Yeah, I was really just meaning we have a YouTube channel and we are frustrated by the delays as well. Because of YouTube, we got to try 1.2 out for a week in a loaner vehicle, but that just made me realize what...
We have BlueCruise 1.0 and a YouTube channel.
We are borrowing an adapter from Ford and we had to order one just like everyone else. Yes, we get to borrow the adapter because we have a YouTube channel. It is so we can make videos about it and because Ford expects us to give feedback (which we...
Yep, I definitely will. They contacted me over the weekend to verify my address and said they would let me know when they have shipment info. I'm curious to see the differences.
There were pros/cons to each. With the Ford/Tesla provided adapter, it requires pressing the latch and pulling at the same time. The location of the latch makes it slightly awkward. With the A2Z, the sliding latch means you can slide it to open and then pull it apart. But the disadvantage is...
We've tested the A2Z adapter multiple times and with multiple Ford EVs and it is works as expected. The Lectron adapter should ship any day now and we will test that one too and do a comparison between the official adapter, Lectron, and A2Z.
Stay tuned.... The follow up is happening right now but it is Coast-to-Coast from Jacksonville to San Diego with a Lightning, Cybertruck, Silverado EV, and Rivian R1T!
Thanks! It really has turned into something we never expected and we're having so much fun along the way. And even the working part is pretty good - our driving on Saturday was lots of fun and we ended meeting a friend that lives in Palm Desert for dinner. And the editing day was really us...
I asked A2Z about this and their CEO sent me this image. They way the pins go from NACS to CCS in the adapter they form a crossing pattern. That is why the heat looks uneven, the bars inside are not symmetrical. The thermal image is basically showing more heat from the bar in front.
We do have car scanner and I was already thinking of doing a new test this weekend. I talked to Kyle Conner this morning and he had some suggestions so we're going to give that a try.
A2Z is now over on YouTube responding to questions in the comments. I'll see if they had said anything and if...
It was definitely a coordinated thing to get the adapter to people like us. It does come with strings attached - we have to return the adapter since this is pre-production and there is an expectation that will give Ford feedback and help them test. In the video, we had trouble with the EA P&C...
We got our A2Z adapter on Monday and went out right away to test it. It worked just like the Ford adapter. The latch is a little tricky, but it does work.
