Silly LED mod, but I like it... sweeping lights

The white wire appears to continue supplying power regardless of the status of the DTRL. There may be more to the lighting controls than simple wiring connections. Black and green is ground, you don't even need to tap it, just use any good ground.

That's the only wire that would work when the DTRL is on, but the strip will stay on long after you power down, like another 5 minutes.

Replaced side badges with stripes and moved badge to tailgate.

I used POR Caliper paint (~$20). Just tape up the area, use a narrow and wide art paint brush, and apply multiple coats.

Replaced side badges with stripes and moved badge to tailgate.

That was to keep the tradition of all our mustangs having a displacement badge. :)

Thanks, "Wednesday" theme dictates all black with touches of blood red. Did it with the brake lights as well. :)

Replaced side badges with stripes and moved badge to tailgate.

Removal was super easy, barely an incovenience. Heat gun surrounding area, use dental floss to lift it off, then the remaining adhesive easily rolls off when rubbed with finger.

Dipyourcar paint is much stronger than Plasti-Dip, I painted the car 3 years ago and it's held up pretty well.

Yes that would be the white (+) wire, but I chose not to use it because it would stay on 5 minutes after the car had been turned off.

Is that the white wire? I did that at first but the LEDs stayed on too long after I turned off the car. Just bugged me to have the unnecessary drain.

Silly LED mod, but I like it... sweeping lights

I wouldn't worry too much about long term damage to the hood, this strip is made of very soft materials so I don't think it would hurt anything.

I actually considered getting the 70", but I would have had to hide the excess under the rubber moulding on the sides of the trunk, and that would likely cause the same issue. Also the 59" ends almost exactly where the amber light strip starts (see video) so it was a good fit.

Unless you have freakishly tiny hands, it's the only way to get to the headlight warning harness. :)

My daughter gave me a little teddy bear plane and I found the propeller controls.

Quick, easy and cheap mod for interior lighting.

For models without interior lighting, here's a cheap option: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08F5C8L1W?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Front and rear views. Light color and brightness can be adjusted via included remote. It has a USB-A power cord which can be hardwired directly to the...

I don't think it's the strip itself, but rather the endcaps at each end of the strip. I'd say the strip is about 3/16" thick.
