So I have a '06 Silverado 2500HD (Duramax) that I use for towing our 5th wheel, and other "truck stuff" like hauling debris away, getting bark, moving furniture etc. In my situation, our 5th wheel is large enough I need a Diesel truck (technically gas would work, but be less efficient/powerful)...
My brother has the quad motor Rivian. IT. IS. SCARY. FAST!! So much weight yet it throws you back in the seat and in seconds you're doing 100mph+.
I agree with the others, either they backed off a bit, or wasn't quad motor version as it would smoke a Mach E.
To your point - you're right his incident is a collision with a pole. So wouldn't qualify as a comp claim. My point was in my case, my comp claim didn't raise my rates. So I don't think my insurance broker lied to me. Again as you pointed out this isn't a comp claim, but I did address it like it...
Not an attack on you personally.
However, this kind of logic pisses me off. I realize insurance is primarily for catastrophic instances where injury or property damage adds up to big debts. However, its BS that when you pay premiums for decades with zero claims, and then something out of your...
I think $5k+ is realistic. You'll likely need new fender flare, clips to hold everything, perhaps an entirely new bumper vs repaint (not a body shop guy) and any parts that might have been bent damaged. My recommendation is to use insurance. It sucks but that is why we pay the premiums. My...
It'll be probably around $2k based on my experience. I had the following damage:
Small mark from tire debris hitting the bumper and headlamp. Marking the bumper, and putting tiny crack in headlight assembly. Also rock or perhaps part of same tire hit windshield and created a tiny spider/chip...
(Denzel Voice) "My man!" yeah that accounts for my line of thinking as well. This thread has been interesting because of the high number of people who very much go function over form plus the thought process they went through in deciding. Pretty awesome. But yeah, I'm with you. If both cars are...
Yeah I agree. I mean function is still definitely important, and I wasn't inferring that I'd put up with a dumpster fire of a car so long as it looks cool. I'll give a few things a little more patience if I love the look of something.
Curious where forum members land on form vs function when buying a car, and specifically the Mach E.
Personally, I lean towards more form vs function. My attitude is I want to love my vehicle, get a smile on my face when I see it in the driveway/parking lot, customize it to my tastes etc. The...
yeah, I don't think it matters. Considering all the factory ones are fully painted I can't imagine painting them will do anything. Plus if they do move enough, they would just remove the paint.
Once again fantastic video! I watched your first one while waiting to find my Mach E, and now watching this second one with mine sitting in the garage. You do a great job of editing and narrating without going overboard on talking.
I have admittedly only done one "road trip" in mine since...
Yeah, I personally have never been a Ford guy (Mach E is my first Ford vehicle ever - nothing wrong with the brand just never been my styling) always GM/Chevy. Didn't even really like the Corvette until the C7 body style (2014-2019) and I do like the new C8 body style. I was actually about to...
Here's something else to piss off ICE Mustang owners...anyone else get Camaro vibes on the new body style? Specifically the rear corner panel, and somewhat the front clip. To be clear, I still kinda like it but have always been a Corvette fan more than these other models anyways.
I agree the initial cost of the car was higher (especially since I bought mine during the height of the crazy) which effectively absorbs/moves my fuel savings into what my payment is. But that cost is done in 5yrs (in my case) at which point I will still be saving on maintenance and fuel costs...
