Iād say the Ford Mobile Charger works if youāve got nothing else available, but there are better options. The nice thing about the Ford one is that it can be used on either 110 or 240v outlets but itās really not designed for long term use. (Says a guy whoās been using his as an L1 for over a...
Yep. Between the price cut, the rebate and dealer incentive, a new ā23 GTPE cost just slightly less than I paid for my ā22 Premium SR RWD! Then when you add in the fact that theyāre offering 0.99% interest on a 4 yr lease with a surprisingly high residualā¦wellā¦
The only way they could clear...
My last ICE car (a 2012 Sonata) had a fun recall that could result in the engine suddenly seizing up. On the highway. While driving. In the middle of nowhere. Ask me how I know. š¤£
I like that! Thatās exactly what we found we were doing when we did road trips with our Mach E (standard range no less!) last summer. Yes, it took longer than in an ICE car, but when we got to our destination, we werenāt absolutely wrecked from doing six hour or longer pulls between fill-ups.
I agree. Itās hard to armchair quarterback though. I wasnāt in the car and my wifeās recollections are what they are. She says she tried hitting the brake multiple times. If she was pressing either pedal, the car would have been jerking from the acceleration or braking force as she pushed down...
Good point. This was the carā¦You can see the A&W in the back left. She blasted out of there, jumped the curb, crossed over 2 lanes (parking lot entrance/exit), jumped another curb, then my wife swerved to avoid slamming into a building and ended up hitting a van at a stop sign. I never thought...
Which recall is this? My wife had a similar issue (she was stopped and the car started accelerating) and the last we heard from our insurance, Ford said there was a communication sent out to all '22 owners but we never received anything like that, nor can I find any details about it. The...
They *should*, but from my experience, they won't. What's interesting is that my wife had a similar experience with our '22 Premium in December. She was at a complete stop stop at a drive-thru window (but hadn't put the car into Park) and the car took off. She was unable to stop it and hit...
That sucks. I had something similar happen to me back in 2011. Was away visiting friends for New Years and my house got broken into. Didnāt realize theyād taken my spare car keys. About a week later, they came back and took the car from in front of my house! While I was home!
No, neither my wife or I use 1-pedal. Which model year is your GT? I know there was a recall for a limited number of ā21s, but mine was a ā22 Premium.
Actually where I find it challenging is the unwanted decelerations. For example, driving down a highway where thereās a truck weigh station and the exit road has a speed limit sign posted. Iāve had a few cases where my car read it and tried to decelerate. Definitely a surprise when it happens.
Considering how hard Iām finding it to get data from my Mach E even after a crash, I can assure you that no one is looking at that data. At best, itās being fed into AI models in aggregate to help improve BC and insurance company actuarial data.
My insurance adjuster has no access to nor...
I agree. Itās eminently possible that was the case. I wasnāt in the car at the time but my wife swears up and down she was hitting the brake. If only there was a system in the car that could provide the data required to resolve the question of what actually happenedā¦
Thanks for your reply. That is very insightful. It makes sense. Ironically thatās why we want this data. I would be relieved to find out that it was driver error and not something with the car.
Also, as a software developer for 25 years it concerns me that this kind of data isnāt more...
