    Questions from a beginner

Iā€™d say the Ford Mobile Charger works if youā€™ve got nothing else available, but there are better options. The nice thing about the Ford one is that it can be used on either 110 or 240v outlets but itā€™s really not designed for long term use. (Says a guy whoā€™s been using his as an L1 for over a...

    2024 Mach-E Rally official price: $59,995. Mach-E GT price cut to $53,995

Yep. Between the price cut, the rebate and dealer incentive, a new ā€˜23 GTPE cost just slightly less than I paid for my ā€˜22 Premium SR RWD! Then when you add in the fact that theyā€™re offering 0.99% interest on a 4 yr lease with a surprisingly high residualā€¦wellā€¦ The only way they could clear...

Changes noticed on New 2024 Mach-E (Select Model)

Yep. Noticed it on my new GT. Definitely wasnā€™t there on my ā€˜22. Hah! I just noticed this the other day when test driving a new GT.

You can't road-trip in an EV...hold my beer

My last ICE car (a 2012 Sonata) had a fun recall that could result in the engine suddenly seizing up. On the highway. While driving. In the middle of nowhere. Ask me how I know. šŸ¤£

You can't road-trip in an EV...hold my beer

I like that! Thatā€™s exactly what we found we were doing when we did road trips with our Mach E (standard range no less!) last summer. Yes, it took longer than in an ICE car, but when we got to our destination, we werenā€™t absolutely wrecked from doing six hour or longer pulls between fill-ups.

Unintended acceleration and dealership will not acknowledge there is a problem

I agree. Itā€™s hard to armchair quarterback though. I wasnā€™t in the car and my wifeā€™s recollections are what they are. She says she tried hitting the brake multiple times. If she was pressing either pedal, the car would have been jerking from the acceleration or braking force as she pushed down...

Unintended acceleration and dealership will not acknowledge there is a problem

Good point. This was the carā€¦You can see the A&W in the back left. She blasted out of there, jumped the curb, crossed over 2 lanes (parking lot entrance/exit), jumped another curb, then my wife swerved to avoid slamming into a building and ended up hitting a van at a stop sign. I never thought...

I was getting an error on my order status up until I got another email yesterday then it started working. Says my delivery estimate is in June.

    2023 MME Unintended Acceleration

Which recall is this? My wife had a similar issue (she was stopped and the car started accelerating) and the last we heard from our insurance, Ford said there was a communication sent out to all '22 owners but we never received anything like that, nor can I find any details about it. The...

Unintended acceleration and dealership will not acknowledge there is a problem

They *should*, but from my experience, they won't. What's interesting is that my wife had a similar experience with our '22 Premium in December. She was at a complete stop stop at a drive-thru window (but hadn't put the car into Park) and the car took off. She was unable to stop it and hit...

    Dirty Looks / Rubbernecking

Best reaction I ever got was someone who came up to me at the vet and asked, ā€œWhat did they do to the Mustang?!?ā€ šŸ¤£

Stolen out of my locked garage

That sucks. I had something similar happen to me back in 2011. Was away visiting friends for New Years and my house got broken into. Didnā€™t realize theyā€™d taken my spare car keys. About a week later, they came back and took the car from in front of my house! While I was home!

Need help getting answers! Possible Unintentional Acceleration issue.

No, neither my wife or I use 1-pedal. Which model year is your GT? I know there was a recall for a limited number of ā€˜21s, but mine was a ā€˜22 Premium.

Need help getting answers! Possible Unintentional Acceleration issue.

Actually where I find it challenging is the unwanted decelerations. For example, driving down a highway where thereā€™s a truck weigh station and the exit road has a speed limit sign posted. Iā€™ve had a few cases where my car read it and tried to decelerate. Definitely a surprise when it happens.

    sick of being tracked...

Considering how hard Iā€™m finding it to get data from my Mach E even after a crash, I can assure you that no one is looking at that data. At best, itā€™s being fed into AI models in aggregate to help improve BC and insurance company actuarial data. My insurance adjuster has no access to nor...

Need help getting answers! Possible Unintentional Acceleration issue.

I agree. Itā€™s eminently possible that was the case. I wasnā€™t in the car at the time but my wife swears up and down she was hitting the brake. If only there was a system in the car that could provide the data required to resolve the question of what actually happenedā€¦

Thanks for your reply. That is very insightful. It makes sense. Ironically thatā€™s why we want this data. I would be relieved to find out that it was driver error and not something with the car. Also, as a software developer for 25 years it concerns me that this kind of data isnā€™t more...

Nope. She was just on her way home from an appointment about 10 mins up the road.
