LINK: Exclusive: Mustang Mach-E engineering chief explains how teams at home keep the EV on schedule
April 1, 2020
There’s never a good time for a pandemic. But for the engineers working on the all-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E, and now working from home, the timing could have...
Yes I don't like how on the Model X it not only auto opens a small gap when approach the door but also then fully opens automatically once you step around the door. I've seen it actually hit another parked car despite having sensors that is supposed to prevent it.
After looking at the videos of...
I remember seeing some video interviews where it was said that the Mach-E will feature self-presenting doors (automatically unlocks and opens itself when you approach). Has anyone seen this confirmed lately or maybe even seen a video of it in action?
Begs the question whether this something...
Can it be shut off via app if you happen to forget and left on vacation for example?
Even with the energy draw problem I still hope the Mach-E gets sentry mode sooner than later. I think it's a huge feature for vehicle security.
Actually, Taycan does use brake-by-wire. It's mentioned in these reviews https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/porsche-taycan-first-ride/

Yes, there will for sure be aftermarket wheels options which are the same specs (if not better - lighter) than the factory wheels. Manufacturers are beginning to produce wheels for Teslas and they realize that EVs have special wheel requirements for narrower and lighter wheels.
I've seen Grabber Blue Mach-E's making the rounds at dealerships. Have you called area dealerships to see if they'll be getting a demo car for display soon? That'd be better than viewing it at the NY show where the Mach-E will for sure be swamped and you likely can't even get very close to it.
I don't think that will be an issue. The Mach-E is too important a vehicle to bungle OTA updates for, especially since they've made such a big deal about the feature.
And yes the Mach-E and current/future Ford EVs have an entire organization/division dedicated to them - Team Edison. So I don't...
And let him know there's a fully electric F-150 coming also, so they're making the pivot to EVs with the company's best selling vehicle.
Curious btw does anyone know if the Mach-E and electric F-150 will share the same EV platform? I know other companies like Tesla and Rivian have a single...
I don't know if I've just been staring at the online builder too many times or looking at too many Mach-E photos online but I really feel like there's a medium blue missing. Ford has always had some great blue colors and I wish the choice for the Mach-E wasn't just between Grabber Blue (which...
Good find! I like how the energy use screen has category breakdowns for how energy is being used.
And I know some aren't fans of large vertical screens that aren't integrated into the dash, but functionality wise they seem great. They give you enough space for split screen menus/controls that...
Bravo. A Tesla owner with objectivity, you are a rare breed. ? Thank you for sharing your extensive thoughts. I had considered a Tesla but the lack of service centers and how backed up they all are really dissuaded me. I've heard of months long waits for replacement parts too. Someone I know...
Yes, per the first post: The Mach-E made its UK debut in a stunning satin blue color, but we do not yet know the color name nor its availability. We'll share that info as soon as we know.
I love it! Hopefully this is the one yet unannounced color that Ford talked about at the LA reveal: Our Q&A...

Elegant design and unbridled performance have found their meeting place; the B&O sound system in the all-new Ford Mustang Mach-E. A fabric covered speaker array takes center stage...
The cloud-based mapping and routing if paired with real-time traffic data for route planning will remove a major advantage held by smartphone navigation apps (Google & Apple). So if the nav system is able to highlight available charging stations and account for battery range limitations in route...
That's promising to see but highly optimistic IMO. If it were capable of 400+ miles, Ford would have advertised the 400 number instead of 300 miles that's been used in the Mach-E marketing. The companies always advertise the most optimistic mileage figures for their EVs.
