I have noted one more thing about the partial open. If I unlock a door with one of the buttons on it (say, as I am rolling back the cover), the liftgate button then opens the liftgate all the way. If I unlock the car with the fob or phone, then it partially opens.
Yeah, it used to fully open most of the times when the car was unlocked. But today I explicitly unlocked it and it then partially opened on first press.
My guess is it's a defective liftgate button module, not properly sending a signal to open the liftgate. But I am not a Ford mechanic. :)
I tried and a quick press of the liftgate button didn't make any difference on my '23. I always get a partial open, even when when the car's unlocked. But the key fob button always opens it fully.
