Sorry to hear about your car. My â21 Premium AWD ER just went through this in April. It took a frustrating amount of time to get sorted out due to my tow truck driver damaging my carâso there was body work to attend to, tooâbut once the right people got involved (âpower usersâ on this forum...
My Premium AWD ER spent 7 weeks in the shop for various issues, including the latest high voltage connectors issue. When we got the car back, with all software updates available applied by the dealership, we started seeing more range. We always got 230-240 miles on 100% SOC. Now weâre...
Right? But for now, that isnât the case. The tech kept trying to reinstall the failed data packets, but since his laptop had reported an overall successful update installation, it wouldnât let him reinstall. It took another techâs laptop to get to reinstall the update with the failed data packet.
This sounds exactly like what mine was doing. It might well be that one of the âdata packetsâ that is part of the larger software updates failed to install. Subsequent packets can install successfully, but some features need the data from the failed packet to work.
Mine got fixed yesterday, finally! Hereâs what resolved my issues:
âSo an update on what went wrong and how they fixed it, for those interested. Strictly laymanâs terms, as I donât pretend to understand all of it.
there were multiple software updates applied to the car, and these apparently...

there were multiple software updates applied to the car, and these apparently must be applied in a specific order. It sounds like larger updates...
So far, just a broad-strokes explanation that the Ford HQ engineer was looking at data following the most recent attempt to re-install required updates and recognized a glitch or error that he was able to solve for. Strictly software. Iâll ask for more detail.
Update 6/22/22
Finally, some good news: they fixed my car, all features back to working, all updates successfully installed. A Ford engineer from HQ figured out what was wrong and got it fixed.
As I stated at the beginning, my wife and I have loved the car when it was working, and only became...
I did a ton of homework too before buying. I expected issues. Having my car in the shop for two full months with no end in sight goes way beyond âtypical new EV issues,â in my opinion.
Itâs funny because while the Mach E has been at the dealership, our tried-and-true 2012 Honda CRV that weâve owned since brand new (190,000 miles and zero issues) started to have a slipping transmission (never stranded us, and with that mileage, an expected repair). We traded it in for a 2022...
I expected early adopter bumps in the road. I didnât expect my car to be in the shop for two full months (and counting), or for there to apparently be nobody that knows how to fix these cars when theyâre down.
I appreciate everybodyâs advice, insights, and shared (bad) experiences. I really just needed to vent as each day, my call to my service adviser is just more bad news (still not fixed). As I said before, we loved the car with a capital âLâ when it was working. Iâll likely give it another...
Thatâs a valid point about priceâthis car wouldnât be $60k if it was an ICE vehicleâbut as a customer, Iâd still feel like even a $20,000 car with only 5,000 miles on it shouldnât strand you. And software fixes shouldnât take multiple weeks.
Iâm going through exactly the same thing. My car wouldnât start and gave me the âStop Safely Nowâ fault. In âfixingâ that and the three previous recalls, the dealership applied several software updates. These updates took away lane centering and failed to install Blue Cruise as they should...
So a significant edit. My wife and I placed a reservation for our car, dubbed âBlue Banshee,â in November 2019 when Ford announced it. Premium AWD ER. We converted our reservation to an order as soon as Ford opened the order books. We took delivery of our car the day it arrived at our...
Mine is in the shop for the same reason. Itâs been frustrating because the service folks are confusing copilot 360 (lane centering with adaptive cruise control) with Blue Cruise. Theyâre thinking that Ford intentionally disabled lane-centering as Blue Cruise rolled out. But itâs a...
I just got three recalls fixed, including the windshield and panoramic roof removal and reinstall. Like others, mine also no longer provides lane centering/hands on driving lane keep. I cannot get the blue bubble to appear around my car on the driverâs display. Like others, Iâm growing...
I had it towed to the dealer. The tow truck service that Ford Roadside Assistance sent to me damaged my car loading it onto the trailer. Tore up the front splitter whilst trying to drive it onto the flatbread trailer. Needless to say, Iâm not happy. I donât have the means to pull codes.
thank you!
Oddly, after two hours of trying things and not being able to turn the vehicle on, it worked when I went out to try to put the car into emergency tow mode. Go figure. Tow truck is en route, too.
thanks again.
