Nothing devious or suspicious..... To look like I'm on a road trip, frunk contents reside in small luggage pieces. The wine box is in a tote bag. Golf clubs in the rear hatch indicate I'm traveling for "good clean fun".
I keep these items in my frunk just in case I have to leave town in a hurry...... A prepaid Visa card, a change of clothing, personal care items, a sleeping bag and some boxed wine. A prepaid "burner" cell phone may come in handy, so I'm buying one soon.
Sid..... Thanks so much for posting your experience. My car has been in the service department since Monday morning. It is taking extended time because of all of the updates. Ford HQ and the dealer staff are collaborating.
Monday evening the Service Manager informed me that he was waiting...
There is a thread on a problem which may be the same or similar it is called..... Maybe it will help.
Hight Voltage Battery overheating during charging on L2 after OTA
Since yours works and mine does not, there may be a compatibility problem between old SOBDM firmware and one of the recent OTAs. I suspect that my car is running the original SOBDM firmware.
As stated by Matstar, it looks like you car escaped the software problem. Just as a review..... Did you ever have the HVB heating problem? Or did you have the heating problem and it somehow fixed itself?
Also, has your car had many non-OTA software updates? (like dealer installed). I...
Thanks for this information. Your good news is my good news. I think you will get your car back sooner than later. Sid, could you do me a favor? When you pick up you car, could you ask the service guys how they verified that your car is fixed? Then could you post the response? A final...
The service techs are faced with isolating a problem which they have not seen before. Unguided fault isolation may waste time and provide no results. Written/verbal help from Ford must eliminate technician guesswork. I think that the "fix" can be a very simple procedure once fault isolation...
Sid - I think that your home charging station is OK. If the charging station was defective, the HV battery could not "warm up" to 90F.
The root cause is that an SOBDM software update causes the Cabin and Battery PTC heater to incorrecty turn on. This causes the symptons described on this...
Thank you for the update, Sid. First, I hope that your car charges properly once it leaves the dealership. Hopefully your dealer will use a correct procedure and you will be done. Maybe after one day, to boot!
A scenario we don't want is ....... A dealer tech plugs an affected car into their...
Another thanks goes out to you. I will contact Gimme_my_MME the day before my car goes in for the PMI. I pushed my service visit out by a week in the hope that a verified fix would be available so only one trip to the dealer would correct things.
After the reprogramming, do you think the...
Thank you for posting this. Very encouraging news. If your car can be fixed, maybe everyone else's can be fixed, too. Let's see how long it takes for an official documented procedure to be disseminated to the dealers. I will be paitent and optimistic. Please keep us up do date if anything...
