Agree about the Green River EA challenge. But the Tesla Superchargers in Green River are only V2 and not open to us. Green River is really a roll-the-dice (but absolutely required) stop when crossing nothern Utah. It is possible if travelling from Grand Junction to SLC on to bypass Green...
I was one of the lucky ones with an order in the 8000's. Adapter was delivered to my house on Monday while I was away watching the eclipse. Ironically receiving an A2Z adapter today, so I'll have dueling choices.
No, and I don't have a YouTube channel. I did send a message to Ford today via the forum asking about the HVJB gift and I've received several responses to that. When I saw the shipping notice, I figured it was for the appreciation gift.
What a nice surprise! Just got email from Ford that my adapter has been shipped. Order number 8077, with anticipated shipping date of "May".
Thanks @Ford Motor Company !
EDIT: Here is the e-mail I received:
Note that my order status page on Ford.com still say "In production, shipping date...
I e-mailed them yesterday and got a response saying mine should be shipping today. Haven't received the shipping e-mail yet, but I figure it will be end of day. Be nice to get it here before I have to make a trip to SLC in late April.
EDIT: Just got my shipping e-mail. So 3 1/2 weeks from...
Thanks for that data. Its interesting, but as you said, it answers a slightly different question than what I was asking. I agree that people who do travel more than 200 miles in a day are more likely to do so multiple times. But what would be really interesting to find out are the number of...
Not trying to pick a fight, but *my* threshold is 3-4 hours driving before I want to stop and at least stretch my back and legs. @~70 mph, that means 240-280 miles. I'm never driving 400 miles without a stop. And if I'm going to stop, then I'm going to charge the car.
This is an interesting debate point. I agree and disagree at the same time. Agree because people have a mental model of ICE that they try to apply to EV's, and that makes Joe/Jane Average nervous. Disagree because (with the huge caveat of having garage to charge in) when people actually use...
Tried to address the price issue in my first post, but yes, need a $45K vehicle with 350 range and 20 minute charge.
Winter issue is more about keeping the interior warm than battery tech. Heating the car in the winter will always reduce range, proportional to how much you have to heat the...
While I agree we can simply say "Lithuim-Ion in everything", I think that's too simplistic. Battery Tech for cars, taken as a whole (cell chemistry, energy density (both volumetric and weight), cell design, packaging, etc.) has been "improving" at roughly 8-10% per year for over a decade. Most...
I also ordered March 11. Just checked my order and it says "getting ready to ship" - I think that has been updated, so hopefully I'll get the shipping notification shortly. Really want to try this out (I have a Ford Adapter ordered with a May ship date).
Stupid trivia question (and answer) "What is the first country you come to if you travel due south from Detroit? Canada (look at a map).
BTW, Kudo's to FMC for doing right by customers in this case.
