Your 3 was an older one with the PTC heaters?
My wife's 2021 3 Performance has been fairly efficient so far with the heat pump. This was on I-95, 495 and 295 been Delaware & New Jersey, 75 mph speed, 38-42F. Pirelli Sotozero III winter tires. This drive with the older Model 3 would've been...
I came here for research but didn't buy one for my wife, stuck around. There are a lot of people on here that aren't owners yet, haven't made a decision, or went another route but stuck around. Is that a bad thing? There's also a lot of people without good knowledge on EVs in general and...
The only one I'm familiar with is TMC (Tesla Motors Club). The reddit Tesla forums are terrible, like most of reddit. I think Tesla Owners Online is the other large Tesla community but I'm not familiar with it.
Obviously there's always bias to the product each person prefers and purchase. I...
This is my Model Y from this past weekend. Drive to destination was 39F, drive back 47F. This works out to 4.17 miles/kWh. The Mach-E would've been around 2.0-2.5 miles/ kWh? Knock it all you want, the Y does fine in colder weather. I've done the same drive in better weather with 232 Wh/mi, or...
Almost impossible to achieve those efficiency ratings in winter since the EPA tests are done in ideal conditions. Once you start using the cabin HVAC for heat, that power draw is going to be 1-6 kW, which is why the efficiency drops dramatically.
In preparation for it. If it doesn't pass, they can easily drop prices again. Even at current prices, there's still a large backlog of 6+ months, so people aren't price sensitive at the current prices. Note, prices aren't higher outside the US. Think about it.
The bill is pointless. The...
Ford's price cuts were right around the same time Tesla dropped the prices on the Y LR, which were around $3000, the first being $2000 and then another $1000.
Yep, the key thing is making sure the rubber is clean. I use Meguiars non-acid wheel and tire cleaner, then Adam's Tire Shine since I prefer the satin finish instead of a gloss.
We're a two BEV household. Wife wasn't keen on the idea of not having a gas car, but that concern has been eliminated now that we've done multiple drives and I do all the planning. Her bladder can't outlast the battery any way, so we're stopping more frequently any way lol.
When I worked from...
If this was me, I'd make a website, EssentialFordSucks.com, and rent a billboard on a major interstate highway for 30 days. Direct people to the website with all documentation on the situation. I'd also use social media (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, etc) to get as many views as...
The radar detects large stationary metal objects, like bridge overpasses, manhole covers, etc. I've only had it happen once in 2 years, so it's not an issue on my Model Y.
The older Model S also have the PTC heaters, so they're not efficient in the winter. All Model Y, the newer S & X, and 2021 and newer Model 3 have the heat pump. Efficiency loss is about 15%, so not much of a range hit. My wife and I did a drive to visit her cousins, in her 2021 Model 3...
