I was looking at a used e-tron (which I think they now name the Q8 e-tron). I stepped away from that as there were apparently issues with coolant leaks in the motors (taking out a whole motor). You may want to look at that.
So the electrician gave me the decent new that no panel upgrade was needed.
However, as I got closer to saying yes to the car, the wife, who I thought was more on-board with the idea of electric, started getting a lot nervous about the concept. Back to the discussions for a little while...
Thanks all for the replies so far. As would be expected from a forum, there is those that love it, and those that dislike it (majority to the love side)
The concerns would seem to be the HVBJB and software.
For the HVBJB, it would seem to be an under designed part if driving style and...
I think I should be able to do a 30A circuit without major changes. Hoping it's not too much to get up to a 50A circuit.
Was thinking about the Grizz-le chargers as they seem to be quite cost effective here in Canada.
The biggest question for me about the install is the service to the house and upgrading the main breakers. The panel was upgraded about 4 years ago, but left at 100A. The inside run to the garage is easy (straight line across basement, out through the wall to the garage). I was budgeting to...

We're a two car household and I work from home so generally not too...
Among my test drives, I felt that the Mach-E 1-pedal driving was more natural than the Hyundai, Kia or Tesla versions. But I am also coming from a manual transmission so I'm used to the engine braking (to the extent that happens)
The plan is to try and enjoy. I'd be coming out of a 2017 GTI that has been a bit of a nightmare.
I totally get that people come to the forums to complain so the forums are only a small look at the total ownership experience. I've looked over a lot of posts and also when those post were...
Yeah, I'm taking the range estimates with a grain of salt. Also have done the math about what my range would be like in winter versus the places I may have to go.
So I'm within about a week of putting down money on a long range AWD premium. I've done a few test drives and really enjoy the car. The only thing I'm waiting on really at this point is to make sure that the cost of the home charger install is not insane.
Is there anything people would say to...
