  1. Stop Safely Now (HVBJB): Mach-E Owners Biggest Fear - Facts and Info Thread

I was looking at a used e-tron (which I think they now name the Q8 e-tron). I stepped away from that as there were apparently issues with coolant leaks in the motors (taking out a whole motor). You may want to look at that.
  2. Anything you would say to a potential new buyer (as of August 2023)?

So the electrician gave me the decent new that no panel upgrade was needed. However, as I got closer to saying yes to the car, the wife, who I thought was more on-board with the idea of electric, started getting a lot nervous about the concept. Back to the discussions for a little while...

I meant to also say there that I have a S10. I didn't even think it did wireless AA, so I was surprised when it did on my test drive.
  4. Anything you would say to a potential new buyer (as of August 2023)?

Thanks all for the replies so far. As would be expected from a forum, there is those that love it, and those that dislike it (majority to the love side) The concerns would seem to be the HVBJB and software. For the HVBJB, it would seem to be an under designed part if driving style and...
  5. Anything you would say to a potential new buyer (as of August 2023)?

Yeah, my opinion is that the mobile charging is for just that - mobile charging. Home charger is definitely part of the budget
  6. Anything you would say to a potential new buyer (as of August 2023)?

I think I should be able to do a 30A circuit without major changes. Hoping it's not too much to get up to a 50A circuit. Was thinking about the Grizz-le chargers as they seem to be quite cost effective here in Canada.
  7. Anything you would say to a potential new buyer (as of August 2023)?

I've looked and unfortunately nothing is on offer
  8. Anything you would say to a potential new buyer (as of August 2023)?

The biggest question for me about the install is the service to the house and upgrading the main breakers. The panel was upgraded about 4 years ago, but left at 100A. The inside run to the garage is easy (straight line across basement, out through the wall to the garage). I was budgeting to...
  9. Anything you would say to a potential new buyer (as of August 2023)?

Spirited for me is flooring it for passing 4 cars on two lane country roads cause the front car is going too slow. Other than that I'm a pretty sedate driver. Most of the time don't feel the need to be chasing other cars. We're a two car household and I work from home so generally not too...
  10. Anything you would say to a potential new buyer (as of August 2023)?

This was my plan - there are a fair number of ER AWD Premium listed as being available on the lot at the moment.
  11. Anything you would say to a potential new buyer (as of August 2023)?

Home charger is a key part of the plan. Electrician will be by tomorrow to do check out everything to give me the quote.
  12. This electric vehicle mines crypto in its free time

So you reduce your range by trying to mine for crypto? ?‍♂️ Seems like a place to post the line goes up video.
  13. Anything you would say to a potential new buyer (as of August 2023)?

Among my test drives, I felt that the Mach-E 1-pedal driving was more natural than the Hyundai, Kia or Tesla versions. But I am also coming from a manual transmission so I'm used to the engine braking (to the extent that happens)
  14. Anything you would say to a potential new buyer (as of August 2023)?

The plan is to try and enjoy. I'd be coming out of a 2017 GTI that has been a bit of a nightmare. I totally get that people come to the forums to complain so the forums are only a small look at the total ownership experience. I've looked over a lot of posts and also when those post were...
  15. Anything you would say to a potential new buyer (as of August 2023)?

Yeah, I'm taking the range estimates with a grain of salt. Also have done the math about what my range would be like in winter versus the places I may have to go.
  16. Anything you would say to a potential new buyer (as of August 2023)?

Unfortunately the GT PE doesn't get any rebates in Canada making it a fair bit more expensive.
  17. Anything you would say to a potential new buyer (as of August 2023)?

So I'm within about a week of putting down money on a long range AWD premium. I've done a few test drives and really enjoy the car. The only thing I'm waiting on really at this point is to make sure that the cost of the home charger install is not insane. Is there anything people would say to...
