Would you pay $498 for a used A2Z NACS Tesla SC adapter ?

Definitely not. After using my A2Z a couple of times, I'm not really that impressed with it. The locking mechanism is pretty sketchy, and I've had some problems getting the NACS cable to lock in (it usually takes me 2-3 tries). I look forward to the official Tesla/Ford adapter.

    Charging Curve Is.. Terrible

Your numbers look normal, but this is not a typical use case. Most people plugging in at a DCFC are at a low SOC (usually less than 20% and often less than 10%), at which point you get faster charging (at least through 50% SOC). Plugging into a DCFC at 60%-70% isn't something most drivers...

500 mile Tesla SuperCharger road trip = SUCCESS

It took be about 3 weeks to get my adapter from the order date. I ordered on March 10 and it was delivered on April 2.

How often do you plan on using your NACS adapter?

I have family in northern Wisconsin, and I've had miserable experiences driving my Mach E and i4 up there (even in the summer). I can't wait to have additional charging options in the northern half of the state. That, and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, which is a CCS desert.

How often do you plan on using your NACS adapter?

I will probably use the Tesla SC network most of the time when I'm on road trips, mainly because they're much more reliable and in more convenient locations. I'll opt for the Tesla membership that month and take advantage of the lower rate. When on long road trips, I'm still seeing near-empty...

Ford NACS Adapter has shipped [and NOW ARRIVING]!

Excellent. My order number was in the low 8000s as well, so I hope I'm in the same boat (although I already have an A2Z adapter as a backup). The locking switch on the A2Z is a bit finnicky, so I look forward to the official Tesla/Ford adapter.

500 mile Tesla SuperCharger road trip = SUCCESS

Nice writeup! I can see why the Tesla drivers are so worried about others using their SC network...those stations are so busy!!! ;) I got my A2Z adapter yesterday...can't wait to try it out this weekend!

Very positive long-term Mach-E ownership review by Edmunds

I don't believe any of the FUD I read on EV tire longevity. I haven't seen any significant difference in tire longevity between my ICE cars and our EVs. My BMW i4 OEM tires lasted through 40k miles (and I replaced them only after a nail damaged a tire...there was still about 5k miles left on...

Who is repenting the decision of purchasing a Mach e? I am for sure

I had an early build (February 2021) and drove that Mach E 25,000 miles. I really liked the car, but it did have the HVBJB issue (twice). During those trying times, Ford was pretty good to me; they covered some substantial costs related to long-distance towing and car rental, as I had been...

Ford: When to expect your Tesla P&C OTA [Munro Live: Using the Ford Fast Charging Adapter]

Our Mach E (2023) just got the update two days ago. Although I already reserved the official Ford adapter (should arrive in May), I've ordered the A2Z adapter to have earlier access to the network. Besides, I'll want a second adapter anyway for when my BMW i4 gets Tesla SC access later this...

FAQ & Tips -- Mach-E Access to Tesla Superchargers; NACS Adapter

Nice idea, but it would help to have a working website :(

NACS Adapter Now Available + Ford EV Owners Can Now Charge on Tesla Superchargers in U.S., Canada! 🙌

Yeah, the website is a hot mess. I've been trying to access if for the last 20-30 minutes and it's just plain broken. Not even the "Live Chat" worked.

Trying to get on the website to order, but I think it's crashed/overloaded. I can't access it via my laptop or my FordPass app. It times out. Bummer.

Two-Year "Review": 33,500 miles, 24 months, Dozens of Road Trips...

I've landed three separate EVs at 0% at a DCFC charger: my original (2021) Mach E, a rented Tesla Model 3, and my BMW i4. Each situation involved deteriorating weather conditions (dry to wet, calm to windy, plunging temperatures, or a combination of all three). In each case, I had a reasonable...

Two-Year "Review": 33,500 miles, 24 months, Dozens of Road Trips...

Excellent recap of your adventures! I put on 25,000 miles in my first year owning a Mach E, and I thoroughly enjoyed all my road trips (although I was bitten by the HVBJB bug on one of those trips). However, a true EV road trip warrior, at some point, arrives at a DCFC at 0%. You still need...

Ford to Offer Complimentary Tesla Supercharger Adapter to Eligible Mach-E Owners (1/31/24 Update)

That was my first concern - although I don't intend to use Tesla SCs very often, when I do charge on one I'll probably default to a 'stay in the car' strategy while charging.

The Mach-E needs a REAL refresh!

Newer heat pumps can easily and effectively heat the car down to 10 degrees F, although heat pumps provide a greater advantage when the temp is above 20 degrees F. That said, heat pumps do NOT make or break an EV design, and they matter even less when you precondition your car before leaving in...

The Mach-E needs a REAL refresh!

I'm not sure that Ford needs to do a ton to the Mach E at this point. Range and efficiency are actually pretty decent. My short wish list for the Mach E would be based on some of my experiences with the other EV in our garage (BMW i4): More liberal protocols for DCFC speeds and battery...
