I feel like the cruise should not be turning on at low speeds. It just seems like a recipe for disaster. The fact that the cruise button is so easy to press while parking coupled with the fact that it will quickly bring you to 15 appears to be a poor design decision.
It did it again this week. Slow turn out of a parking space, then I put it in drive and it lurched forward with the cruise set to 15mph. I'm sure I probably palmed the cruise button while turning the wheel, but why is it engaging at a higher speed than I am at, especially when I am barely moving?
I'm sure someone has silently raged at the car, or possibly driven aggressively around me because of it. If they did, I just assumed it was their normal aggressive behavior. The only comments that I've actually heard were positive, or some generic dislike of EVs. Nothing really awful.
I have...
Looking at the interior, I think they fixed most of my major dislikes when compared to the old regular bZ. I was given one as a rental a couple years ago and was not a fan of the vehicle. Between some really irritating interior design choices and a slow charge curve, I was very unhappy with my...
That was the perfect fix!
I just got in my car after my kid and of course he jammed it. I used a (cleaned) flat drain clearing plastic tool to slide under and knock the item down. It was a flat end of a sunglass case that was up behind the cover so it couldn't slide back.
Hah! I unfortunately have "loaned" my Mach E to my teenage son for what I thought was a short term issue. Luckily he is a pretty safe, slow driver. His Kia Niro EV has had repeated motor issues, supposedly covered under warranty. FYI - do NOT ever buy a Kia/Hyundai, especially an EV. They do...
It definitely is. We recently leased an Equinox EV and the low speed sound is far louder than the MME. I can hear the Equinox coming from inside the house. It sounds like a weird spaceship whine. The kids say it is the Fortnite chest sound, and I guess it is pretty close.
Mine showed "off" in FordPass briefly, but since I stayed on that screen a moment, it flipped itself back to "on". It might just be defaulting to "off" until it updates the data.
I agree. When it comes to these heavy EVs with a ton of torque, I'd rather spend a little extra to get that reliability. Cheap tires on an EV like ours is asking for trouble. They'll be "fine" until you need to swerve, brake hard, or drive in slippery conditions, and then they may fail when...
I've had this happen in a parking lot. I had just pulled out of a spot and was turning the wheel. I admit I did accidentally hit the cruise button while turning. I was well under 15mph at the time and the cruise engaged anyway and accelerated quickly. It shouldn't engage at that speed, but it...
Should be good for a little while. 2023 purchased 2 years ago. It is fixed now. A 2nd reset fixed it. Maybe I didn't quite have it disconnected for 10 minutes the first time. Still strange that a hard brake would blow it up like that.
My son was driving home tonight and a deer jumped out in front of the car. He, and the car, braked and avoided any kind of collision. The deer never touched the car. Now, however, every warning light is on and the car is a hot mess. Here's what I notice:
AWD Off
1-Pedal Fault
Pre-Collision...
In my area, and most areas I've travelled so far, dealerships are the absolute worst place for a charge. I usually filter them out on plugshare/ABRP/etc to save me headache and time. They typically have a locking gate outside of their open hours. When they are open, they usually fill their EV...
Mine's a 2023, and I noticed something that looks like water staining at the top of the passenger seat belt pillar. I'm going to try and get a good look at my seals tomorrow.
Have you reset the breaker or unplugged the charger from the wall? Whenever my wall charger blinks red it means it needs to be reset this way. I usually get this after nearby electrical storms.
If you are talking about the lights on the car by the charging port, then...ick....
Edit: I missed...
