Jeebus, I’m glad I passed on my GT reservation last year and bought a gently used Model 3 Perf. I want Ford and GM and all the auto companies to succeed with EVs, but clearly there are teething pains.

This sort of effing around with dealers is frustrating for most folks. I think most people would rather know the one price that everyone pats and be done with it. The possibility that you’ll get screwed makes the process suck.

Hope this is all short-term teething pains. Hope the GT kicks ass for the sale of F stock.

For the deal I got, I think I will be fine. Worst case I lose the 1500 in tax. Best case, I love the car :) Once they arrive, I'd like to meet up with an Atlanta-area GT owner and go for a ride, maybe swap for a few miles.

Reviving this thread because I'm about to sign the contract on a 2018 Model 3 Performance from Vroom. It only has 14K miles and looks to be in great condition. Just under $40K, still under warranty for 18 months. It was one of the last Performance 3s to be sold without the $5K Performance...

We might see some folks happy with 75 dB, and others unhappy with 65 dB. That could be useful.

I was planning on Space White, but I’m leaning toward Cyber Orange now. Partly because of the stitching of the GT interior, has anyone considered that on this thread?

I kinda doubt that Ford will allow North American drivers to tow much if anything with the MME. I had a stickshift Jetta TDI, which was rated for around 3500lbs in Europe, but only 1000 in the USA. Same car, just different standards of abuse apparently.

Thanks for the Tesla stories folks. I will wait until GT ordering begins to see how the initial quality issues are worked out with the MME. One thing is for sure - I like the idea of the Options 3-year lease, so if things turn out worse than I expect, I can hand it back.

I wonder if the wind noise is typical of all cars, but BEV owners hear it because there is no ICE noise? For sure Ford and Tesla have spent many hours in the wind tunnel, and worked hard to smooth every edge.

These are good points. If Ford made a BEV sedan I'd choose it, I really don't need the SUV. It will be interesting to see how quickly the MME wrinkles get ironed out. Hopefully in the next month, before GT ordering starts.

I sorta doubt we will be able to test-ride a GT and GTPE before ordering. Trying out an ICE GT with Magneride would be useful, but with the big weight difference of the MME, I don't know that it will be all that meaningful. I don't have any plans to take the GT to a track, and I doubt many...
