I saw an old thread on this.........how long does it now take between order and delivery (US)?
I currently have a leased car to be turned in October of this year and want to figure when to order a car.
thanks
So let me get this straight.........it is still the Wild West when you order the car, want to finance with Option, go to the dealer and he has a higher finance rate for you? We know it to be 2.25%, if the dealer and you cannot come to terms, are you permitted to walk away from the deal?
The reason I brought this up is because one of the options is to just return the car to the dealer and walk away, but one would think that Ford would have you build lots of equity prior to this.
With the special financing that Ford is offering, how much do you have to put down? If you can walk away from the vehicles after 36 or 48 months, it must be a sizeable amount.
All good points except I would take issue with the point on needing an Inspection. In my town, I needed the inspection ,the bad news is that the cost of the inspection because a third party does it for the town was that it cost to close to the cost of the electrician to do the work. I am still...
Understand.
In my case if it takes a little longer to charge that is OK, I charge off-peak hours after midnight.
But the cost of the Ford Connected Wall Charger to buy and then have an electrician come and do all the work would cost more than just have the electrician come and install the 14-50...
I now understand that you will get a faster charge with the wall charger vs. the 14-50 NEMA plug. In my case, I charge the car overnight. When I plug the car in my garage the car is on a timer to start after midnight, CONED has off peak rates. So the speed of charging is nice, but when I come...
Good point about having the EVSE for emergency use. Personally, never use the car for a trip knowing I have to recharge to get home. The car is used 90% for my business meetings. I know the distances I have to travel, usually go on a full charge and no problem returning home. With a 150...
Methorian, thank you for the fast response.
I can understand putting in the dedicated charging station and keeping the EVSE in the car. I live in the US and you do, all the public charges that I use have the EVSE attached and I plug that into my car. I have never had to use the EVSE outside...
Currently an owner of a 2018 Nissan Leaf SL. Rather than buy a wall charging unit, I opted to put in a 14-50 NEMA wall plug, 50-amp breaker, #6 wire. The manufacturer called for a 40 amp breaker, but I put in the 50 thinking about cars in the future. So my Leaf comes off lease in the next few...
