  1. Mach-E being discontinued ?

Second generation Mach e has been reported to come July, 2026.
  2. Can the next generation Mach-E please include more buttons?

Buttons for HVAC. Knob for volume control. Info screen that is more integrated into the dash, i.e., the Ranger and Lightning. Or, moveable, i.e. the European Explorer EV. And more oriented to the driver. Or, change orientation of screen to landscape.
  3. Rivian R2 Reveal w/ R3 and R3X Surprises! $45K, 0-60 >3 seconds, 300+ miles range, NACS port, 4695 batteries

Would Ford consider bringing the European Explorer EV to the U.S.? Build it at Louisville plant. Call it the Escape EV.
  4. Will There be a “Next Gen” Mustang Mach-E?

Yes, there will be generation 2 Mach e. BTW, the Mach-e Coupe will be a sedan and will be built in Mexico. I haven't seen anything about an electric Mustang coupe / convertible which would be built in Flatrock. With all of that said, all OEMs are scrambling to build affordable EVs (including...
  5. Farley's Comments On Where Ford is On EVs

Interesting article of Ford's strategy on EVs. Seems like concern with possible China flood of small, in-expensive EVs. https://carbuzz.com/news/ford-ceo-says-escape-ev-would-be-cheaper-than-maverick-hybrid#:~:text=A%20compact%20electric%20crossover%20could%20be%20in%20the%20pipeline.
  6. 20-30 years for EV transition?

    Perhaps fusion energy.
  7. Ford reports Q4 earnings and Farley reveals new small affordable EV Platform being developed by skunkworks team

4th Quarter Earnings: https://www.cnbc.com/2024/02/06/ford-f-q4-2023-earnings.html Small EV Platform developed by Ford EV skunkworks team: https://insideevs.com/news/707658/ford-cheap-ev-platform-farley/#:~:text=A small "skunkworks" team within,Jim Farley said on Tuesday.&text=A small team...
  8. Domestic Battery Manufacturing

Ford is trying to bring LFP battery production to a new plant in Michigan. Congress has weighed in because the battery technology comes from. a Chinese company, CATL. From what I understand, Ford signed a license agreement with CATL, for their battery technology. Ford would own the facility...
  9. The Mach-E needs a REAL refresh!

The last I saw G2 platform to start production July, 2026. Haven't seen anything where that has changed.
  10. Jump starting sales

Mach-e and Lightning sales are down, but IMHO, people's interest is still there. So, what is it going to take to translate interest into sales. Lower prices? New battery technology, like solid state? Longer range? Or, will sales be in this valley until the second generation comes out in 2026?
  11. Ford debuts new in-car digital platform with dual-screen Apple Maps via CarPlay

Interesting. It appears to be oriented to the driver, which IMHO is a good thing. The cost is a concern. Hopefully, some of the functionality will find it's way into the Mach-e. But, probably aimed at higher-end vehicles. At the same time, if Ford can decide an limiting the number of screen...
  12. Ford has huge inventory of Mach E

I love cars and technology. EV demand may have hit a speed bump, but interest in EVs is on the raise. OEMs aren't developing new gas engines and transmissions, but are investing in a second generation of EVs. So, IMHO it's not going to be possible to turn the boat around. The concern for...
  13. Will You Buy The Next Gen Mach-E When It Comes Out?

I've been interested in the Mach-e since it was first introduced. Price and range have held me back. I'm not in market, but If I had to buy a vehicle now, it would be a hybrid. In 2-3 years when I will be in the market, I want to see what battery technology will be used in the Mach-e and...
  14. Is this Ford's Upcoming 2nd Gen EV Platform

Saw this a while back (maybe on this forum?). I took the Mach-e coupe that is reference to be a 4 door coupe, not a Mustang 2 door. Current Mach-E (CX727) end of production: June 2026 Second gen Mach-E (CX733) start of production: July 2026, end of production 2033 Mach-E Coupe (CX799) start...
  15. The EV Naysayers

No doubt EVs are the future. Current reality is that demand has fallen off and manufactures have adjusted output to met that demand. While demand may have droppped, interest has not. Many consumers are considering an EV and / or PHEV. But range and cost are holding consumers back.
  16. MME vs Chevy Blazer EV

I saw review of Blazer EV. No frunk. No CarPlay. I like Mach e styling much better. I did like Blazer instrument screen and info screen layout.
  17. MME vs Chevy Equinox EV

Not a fan of the Equinox or Blazer EV. They look longer than the Mach-e. Plus, no frunk in the Equinox or Blazer. And no CarPlay, a deal breaker for me. But, I did see review of Equinox and Blazer and did like the instrumentation screen and the infortainment screen.
  18. Tax Credit Gone in 2024 for MME!!!

It is what it is. Not good timing when EV sales have stalled. But at some point, these tax credits will run out for everyone. Ford needs to concentrate on quality and reducing cost, so the Mach-e is more affordable. And, IMHO, affordability is the bigger issue than tax credits.
  19. New Mach E Range

A heat pump would be great help, if Ford is listening.
  20. Glass Roof as Standalone Option

"Previously, the Mach-E Premium came standard with the Panoramic Fixed-Glass Roof, but that will no longer be the case. Instead, the 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E Premium will now come equipped with the standard roof, though the Panoramic Fixed-Glass Roof will still be available, albeit as a...
