Do not repair. This is minor. If it works fine, purely cosmetic. Just touch up the paint yourself.
how much will your insurance premium go up? And for how many years and do you have more than one vehicle? Do the math before you find a claim.
This is not a big deal - just a headache to deal with.
Record would be crossing 66,666 miles and still with presumably HVBJB failure. I had thought that maybe if you cross a threshold, you may be immune to this. Wishful thinking.
Sounds like it is inevitable.
Will keep you all posted. And...
Wife drive car 400 miles today including DC charging twice. Last charge was 50 miles ago. Had pizza and then this.
A Pepboys manager came over. Disconnected 12 v battery for 10 mins. Connected 12V jumper cables but error persists. Any suggestions? Car won’t go into drive or park.
Finally decided to cave in and got winter tires last year after driving for 50k miles for CA RTE 1 RWD with original Michelin tires. Went to get originals put back on now for the summer and my tire guy says they were last for another 50k. I don’t drive fast - mostly 40-60 mph.

On a lighter note - BangBus. Really???
Are you a celebrity?
For some of us who avidly followed it in the 90s, are you in the a**** entertainment business?
Amen. Go for a less expensive version. It’s a great car. Take the proverbial leap and you will never go back. We are now a 2 EV (no Tesla, no ICE) household.
56,000 miles-last service was at 22,000. Took it for service this weekend and told them the brakes are squeaking, they wanted $1400 for new brakes. I drive off. See you in another 20,000.
UPDATE - it was my wife who took the car to the dealer. He said that the pads are good thickness. Just the rotors have deposit but they need to replace everything.
What about brake cleaners?
55k miles, 2021 Rte 1, RWD. Chicago weather.
Heard some coarse sounds when starting and baking so made an appointment with the local dealer. This is what the brakes look like. They said both rotors and pads need replacement. My driving is 99% one pedal and very occasional braking. I don’t...
