  2. This might be the record (not a good one)

Wife drive car 400 miles today including DC charging twice. Last charge was 50 miles ago. Had pizza and then this. A Pepboys manager came over. Disconnected 12 v battery for 10 mins. Connected 12V jumper cables but error persists. Any suggestions? Car won’t go into drive or park.
  3. How many miles before replacing tires?

Finally decided to cave in and got winter tires last year after driving for 50k miles for CA RTE 1 RWD with original Michelin tires. Went to get originals put back on now for the summer and my tire guy says they were last for another 50k. I don’t drive fast - mostly 40-60 mph.
  4. Need new brakes 55k miles - maybe?

55k miles, 2021 Rte 1, RWD. Chicago weather. Heard some coarse sounds when starting and baking so made an appointment with the local dealer. This is what the brakes look like. They said both rotors and pads need replacement. My driving is 99% one pedal and very occasional braking. I don’t...
  5. Not fat shaming but…

Was grabbing a snapshot of tire size preparing to order winter tires. Saw this warning. Come on - FoMoCo. This is America. 872 lbs for 5 people and their luggage!!! This would void so many owners warranty if the car could weigh its contents.
  6. Would you dare to without stopping for a charge?

Going from Chicago to Detroit today. Taking the wife and kids to the in-laws. Total travel distance 324 miles. CA RTE 1. 40k miles on the car. Temps 75-83. 10-12 mph tail wind.
  7. Lightning in the Wild

Took my car in for 30k service and look who was lounging there. This is a small Ford dealership in IL. Must be making a lot to send them out for test drives.
  8. Don’t let PAAK De-Fob you. Great for tent camping otherwise.

So we went camping Labor Day weekend and chose an RV site with a 50 amp hook up and a Nema 14 - 50 plug. All was well, Charging was excellent. Except when we got home and I realized I could not unlock the house door. Turns out - I had dropped the key fob and house key somewhere at the campsite...

  14. Range anxiety R.I.P

Tried a range test on my own. I have free level 2 charging at work. Charged to 82% down to 31%. California Rte 1. Conservative driver, city and occasionally up-to 65mph but no Highway driving. 30 to 60F. Got 155 miles with 50% battery use. City trips get much better performance. Sample attached.
  15. Never going back to ICE - worth the wait!

Have to admit, after driving about 250 miles over the last couple of days, I have fallen in love again. You hear the wind – only because there is no engine noise. Acceleration is brisk and effortless across all speeds. The regenerative braking is reliable especially at higher speeds. Range...
  16. Range anxiety after two days of driving

Anxiety Justified? California route one, rear wheel drive, EPA 305 miles. I am a very ‘light footed’ driver. Have not pressed the brake once and over 50 miles of driving. BTW, regenerative braking better than any discs (gave up 2016 Jag for this)
