I’m so frustrated with @Ford Motor Company service, I wish I had never bought my MME. For context:
I searched high and low for a Select with the Technology package this spring, and when I couldn’t find one anywhere within a few hundred miles, settled for one without it. I was bummed, but it...
Nope. I use CarPlay daily and it’s so inconsistent- Sync will just randomly refuse to go back to CarPlay if I look at drive modes, HVAC, anything. I heard the fix is 1.7.1 and been waiting 2 months. @Ford Motor Company seems to want me to have a terrible customer experience.
Checked for an update today and my whole screen went blank for five minutes. Then still on 1.6. @Ford Motor Company thinking of new ways to frustrate me.
Looked at FordPass tonight and saw a red “1” notification. Got excited, thinking maybe I got 1.7.1. Nope, just an alert about the windshield recall…third dealer trip in 3 months coming up.
Who knows at this point. I had the BCM updated for another SSM and had the frunk button show up only for it to be taken away. Still waiting on 1.7 to fix my many CarPlay reliability issues, but not holding my breath. @Ford Motor Company hasn’t decided I’m worthy of OTA updates.
They say they have OTA, but you have to be one of the lucky/blessed to get them. Some of us have had the car for six months with no OTA updates, even bug fixes. Buy something else if OTA is a big deal for you.
For most users? Seems like a month for each. I have zero confidence I’ll even see 1.7.1 at this point.
But hey, at least we got an app update that didn’t fix the app not loading range data.
this is literally all I want. Let me press a button to push the update. Especially when the language used in your app and on your website say I can. If Ford came out and clearly said “You cannot manually get a new update, we’re removing the check for update button and everything will be...
I forgot that if you complain on the forum, the Ford defenders come out of the woodwork. You guys would defend Ford if they had a Bolt-like battery issue.
Partly FOMO, sure. But also what I feel is a legitimate concern that Ford has advertised OTAs misleadingly at best. Remember, there are people in the other thread still being told 1.4.0 is up to date for them, and I got that months ago. Do they have FOMO, or are they being misled?
I work in tech, I understand rolling OTAs out in a paced method. But that pace should be measured in days, not weeks. Given that there are people on 1.4, I’m not at all confident I’ll see 1.7.1 any time soon.
Yes, I’m an early adopter, but one of the features advertised by Ford (and still...
