The way I see it . . dealerships of the future will be for maintenance and repairs not sales. . . Possibly a pickup destination for vehicle bought direct from the manufacturer. The greed these bastards have shown over the past 2 yrs with ADM and sneaky add-on says the end is near. Good.
I agree with you on the after purchase and delivery of a Tesla. As I said, I'm not a fan of Tesla. I prefer buying direct from the manufacturer with a locked in price for the vehicle with restrictions to dealer antics of adding extras to boost the price the the BEV.
Sorry Joe, I disagree with you. I believe you are only protected on the purchase order price. The dealer who loads up the MME with extra nonsense can do it at will. The dealer would love for you to reject the MME so he can sell it for more $$$$.
Simply put. Ford will sell the EVs at a set price. MSRP becomes non existent since you are purchasing directly from manufacturer. Assuming you pick up the vehicle from a Ford dealership you pay them for tax, tag, and other governmental fees. However, it doesn't stop the dealer from adding...
I think Ford needs to consider a separate entity for electric vehicles sales. I like the Tesla model, buy direct, pay one price and get the car/suv from a designated location. . The Ford network dealers can provide servicing. I have never paid MSRP or ADM's on any car I purchased. And, I won't...
I am also worried about the Ford dealers service dept's. I assume the mechanics get some "training" but trying to figure out the failure with minimum service bulletins is a concern. I'm still a fan but with many new EV's coming to market in 2022 says wait a bit longer.
I live in Kissimmee. Since I'm considering the premium AWD, my only concern is living with a pano roof without a sun shade. What is your opinion if you have a pano roof.
One thing Ford should do is make the Pano Roof an option on all trims. A pano roof without a sunshield in Florida does not bode well. The sunshine alone will make the cabin HOT regardless of the coatings applied and excessive use of HVAC . . IMHO.
Early on, Ford said they were calling back cars for quality control. What were they focused on. Certainly not misaligned pano roof or buzzy dash displays.
Simply put: . . count your blessing. We might find that the pano roof may be a design flaw and unfixable. Sure there are others out there claiming no problem found and those who inserted tubing to seal out noise from the pano. Lots of EVs coming to market in the next 24 months. Maybe Ford will...
The buzzy screen effect should not be acceptable to anyone. If Ford claims it to be within specs. Let them know a class action lawsuit may be forthcoming. Force them to fix or replace the "defective" unit.
Simply put: I would not accept a misaligned pano roof. Doing so, you may experience water infiltration down the road. Actually, I would prefer the MME Premium without the pano roof. I'm hoping the '22 model makes it an option.
Maybe the GOM should show a line chart percentage on every component drawing down battery power. i.e. HVAC, head/tail lights, seat heating and ventilation and other power features being used. It can help a driver understand what items are draining the batteries beside the electric motor(s).
It sounds like the 2 motor AWD may not have synced together front and back. I will test drive RWD and AWD MMEs next month and see if I get the same driving experience. I expect all driving modes to respond in the same manner . . sync and thrill.
True, but the majority of owners more likely drive less than 50 miles per day and charge at night. There is a market for all of us looking for BEVs. Plus, the Bolt is reliable and "Cheap".
