  1. Are the more recently produced Mach Es less problematic then those from earlier in 2021?

I’ve had my Premium extended range since February. Never been to the dealer and zero operational problems. PaaK has a delay occasionally, but other than that is has been perfect. Multiple long trips I get about 270 miles at 75mph. Around town the GOM says ~ 320 mile range. Winter has big...
  2. Speed sign said 65 mph car said 85 mph, yikes!!

Let's not debate with opinions over whether the camera system reads speed signs. It does... just pead page 220 of the manual, "Intelligent adaptive cruise control combines SPEED SIGN RECOGNITION". There is also a setting to turn of speed sign recognition if you are interested. My wife's...
  3. Does EXT and STD Range have the same motors?

The larger battery can handle a higher energy discharge rate. More energy transfer to the motors = higher torque and power. That said, it is also being managed by software. Ford could choose to allow a faster discharge rate on the smaller battery and trade off some battery life.

I'm a Mach E owner and have worked in the power industry for 20 years. Scaling up additional power generation for EV demand won't be a problem. The industry has lots of capacity to build new combined cycle plants (natural gas), wind turbines and solar. There is plenty of capacity for...
  6. Range anxiety after two days of driving

With regard to the original post about range at -10F a heat pump absolutely won’t help. It actually would hurt if you ran a heat pump when really cold. Here is why: Above 40F, a heat pump can transfer 3 units of heat for every 1 unit of electricity (300% efficient). Below about 25F, heat...
