An auto CEO came very close to saying the right thing about heavy EV batteries

The weight issue is precisely why I opted for the standard range 66 KWH rather than extended range 86 KWH battery. The 86 is 500 pounds heavier - meaning almost all the time carrying two linebackers in the back seat, reducing efficiency, crating more tire and brake wear, etc. And for what? I...

After Two Years and 30,000 Miles... Long Term Owner Review

Prius has been around since 1997. Mach E since 2020. I kind of think that, come 2046, the Mach E will have ironed out all the bugs, despite being a vastly more complex machine than the initial Prius. I've owned my own Mach E for 2 full years now. It's in all respects an utterly brilliant car...

For those waiting on orders, what does the Model Y price drop to $52,990 make you think?

Musk is basically following Henry Ford's playbook with regard to price competition. Only (so far) without using auto racing as marketing. Although Tesla's emphasis on acceleration etc. are more or less along those lines.

For those waiting on orders, what does the Model Y price drop to $52,990 make you think?

I got a great car in March 2021 at what I considered to be a fair price. The car has more than met expectations. No regrets whatsoever. When I'm ready to purchase my next car, I'll consider all then existing options. But I'm not going to waste a moment -- ever -- on fretting over the fact...

iPhone navigation apps don't work in Mach-e

I’ve tried putting both iPhone 13 pros just about everywhere. Cup holder. Top of center console. Passenger seat. Back seat. Problem won’t go away. I haven’t tried on the dash behind the screen. Also, I hadn’t heard of the charging pad update issue. I’ll check that out with the dealer. Thanks to...

iPhone navigation apps don't work in Mach-e

We have two iPhone 13 Pros. Same problem in each. We have three navigation apps: Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze. All work brilliantly in our Chevy Volt. None work dependably in our 2021 Mach e premium. Sometimes they seem to be working, but then they get "lost." Other times, they are "lost" from...

Glass Roof and Windshield Recall (too early)

FOLLOW UP: Went smooth as silk. Brought it in Monday AM; Could have picked up Tuesday PM, only I had the body shop (which removed/replaced the windshield, headliner, etc.) repair some minor dings. No interior damage done during repairs.

Glass Roof and Windshield Recall (too early)

I see that you also have Infinity Blue (as do I). The color is dazzling when clean, but shows the least bit dirt immediately. I've always purchased white cars, because they are allegedly safer. I ordered Star White in early Jan ... eventually delivered in mid May. In early March, I saw that...

Glass Roof and Windshield Recall (too early)

Huntington Beach Ford told me Thursday that: (1) they've done "a number of these" with allegedly no problems. (2) I could bring the car in Monday morning. (3) it would be a two day job. (4) they'd provide a free rental/loaner car for these two days. Seems straight forward. I'll report back if...

    Activate 360 camera

The 360 camera is utterly wonderful. Can't imagine ever again purchasing a car without both back up camera and 360 camera. Hope that you are able to get yours activated.

My Impressions of BlueCruise after a 300 mile trip

Oh, I agree. On the two lane (each way) sections of that road, you'll have the big trucks tailgating you when you go 70. Big trouble if you try going only 65. My earlier report was on the 22-91-215 (hilly, curvy, 6 lanes each direction) route from Orange County to the Inland Empire, where it's...

My Impressions of BlueCruise after a 300 mile trip

On *many* 120 mile round trips with 1200 ft net elevation increase going out and 1200 ft decrease coming home, I averaged 3.7 - 3.9 M/KWH going uphill and 4.1 - 4.3 M/KWH going downhill. Secret? Adaptive cruise set to 65 MPH. Let the car drive itself. Had you done the same, I rather think you...

    Blue Cruise Quick Review

The Mach-E adaptive cruise works brilliantly in stop and go traffic — on the 405 and also on City streets. It’s actually even more appreciated by me for handling SoCal stop and go than for long distance open road driving. Automatic stop and go driving is completely automatic, as long as the...

California Clean Air Vehicle (CAV/HOV lane) stickers - Has anybody received theirs yet?

Applied for ours in March. Got them around beginning of September. The blue shade color of the decals doesn't look half bad on our Infinite Blue. Way better than all the prior existing colors. No way does the whole thing resemble a Prius!

    Blue Cruise Availability Date

    >>Its insane it can handle a curve with hands on the wheel fine but disengages without real warning when you are using it hands free. Where is the sense in that?<< I don't think it's at all "insane!" Let's think this through. Driver is cruising along, hands free. Maybe drinking a coffee or...

    Blue Cruise Availability Date

I think there is some confusion ... your comparison with Tesla (and "other brands") isn't Apples to Apples. I've been using the adaptive cruise/lane centering/lane keeping on my Mach-E since March. It handles all freeway curves which have unambiguous lane lines on both sides -- including sharp...

California Clean Air Vehicle (CAV/HOV lane) stickers - Has anybody received theirs yet?

On a related note, filed for $2K CA clean vehicle rebate mid March. At least this program notifies re: status. Check is supposed to be in mail mid - late July.

Any early adopters with buyer remorse?

68 KWH, RWD, Premium. Infinity blue. 1435 miles. Brilliant car. No regrets. No problems. Had high expectations, which have been exceeded. Apple Car play and Waze work just fine. Co-pilot 360 v 2.0 is brilliant. Rated range is 230 miles. I’m routinely getting 250 mile range, setting adaptive...
