I took delivery of my GT just last Monday (2nd MME, by the way, so I obviously love the car). If I had taken delivery today my lease payment would be $100/month lower
The MME has a humidity sensor up by the rearview mirror. So, if it senses humidity levels that risk windshield fogging, it flips to fresh air mode until humidity drops below a certain threshold.
Ford auto mode also typically runs a timer on recirc mode and flips to fresh every so many minutes...
Note that if you manually set the blower speed and/or manually hit the recirc button, you are taking the system out of auto mode; it seems that many folks don't understand this. Also, it seems that many folks don't understand that, while operating in auto mode, the calibration forces the system...
Actually, car manufacturers typically size climate control systems, especially a/c systems, for extreme climates. In fact, most automotive systems have the cooling capacity of a typical home system, because customers want their 150 F heat-soaked interior comfortable in less than five minutes.
Point of clarification: the HVB and cabin (PTC heater) CAN be in a common loop, but they are not necessarily ALWAYS in a common loop. There are separate coolant pumps for the HVB loop and the PTC heater loop, and there's a multiposition valve that can link the two loops together ..... I don't...
the climate control settings are different for whether you "precondition" the cabin via remote start or via departure times. For remote start, you can set either "auto" or "use last settings" via the touchscreen. For departure times, you get to choose cool, medium, warm, or off ... whatever...
My personal experience from driving my RWD ER in snowy, icy conditions this past Monday evening: make sure you turn off one-pedal drive and switch out of Unbridled mode. It was very unnatural and downright scary how the car behaved off-throttle with regen and OPD .... I'll likely be getting...
One thing I've been doing in this colder weather to save a little bit of range for short trips around town is to remote start, while plugged in, so that the cabin warms up. Then, after getting in and starting HAL, I turn off the climate control and just run the heated seat and steering wheel...
I have occasionally experienced this where the driver's seat does not move to the position saved under preset 1 ..... but I haven't been able to correlated this error to any other errors.
this would actually be a good question for someone with more specific knowledge of the MME coolant loop calibrations. The PTC heater and HV battery do each have their own coolant pumps. But their loops do intersect at a proportioning valve. So, the question could be whether while...
I have experienced where PAAK let's me unlock and start the vehicle. But while sitting in park, with vehicle on and making a phone call, it throughs a "key not detected" message (phone in either cupholder or atop center console tray) ....... this kind of thing is why I named mine HAL.
full...
PAAK definitely throws a curveball, every once in a while! It's been a while, since I've had to use FordPass to unlock .... knock on wood.
When you get in and get the "key not detected" message, where is your phone? Is it in your pocket? Right or left pocket? I've been told to have my...
if you run in auto mode, the system will force recirc air, instead of fresh air, most of the time, since this minimizes a/c compressor OR PTC heater power consumption. Note that auto mode will occasionally flip from recirc to fresh mode in order to purge CO2 from the cabin (not sure what the...
I've been able to activate CP and GreenLots chargers through FordPass and use EA chargers via P&C. I definitely prefer EA chargers, because they offer the fastest charging speeds
If you're running the climate control system in auto mode and it's using a/c, it is most likely already operating in recirc mode (Instead of fresh air mode). So, my advice would be to leave the climate control in auto.
Now, if we had China-spec vehicles, we would get an air quality sensor that...
OK. Something sounds odd. Auto-medium should behave like a traditional Ford auto climate control calibration, which means the cabin temperature being warmer than than outside air should cause the a/c to go ahead and kick on. The system shouldn't be waiting for the outside temperature to update.
A couple things:
1. the exterior temperature doesn't update until the car has been above xx mph for xx time
2. however, the climate control system should read the initial cabin temperatures and operate the system off those values and not necessarily wait for the exterior temperature to update...
