How To Never Miss An OTA Update Again

Helpful advice. Thanks. I've been driving my wife's ICE vehicle the last few weeks because the roads are sloppy and salty. As a result, it appears that any possible updates are suspended. I'll use the tips and see if anything arrives.

2023 Mach-E. How to activate self park?

re: I can pop into a parking spot in about 5 to 15 seconds. Park Assist, is closer to 30. I have the same experience. I've used it successfully once; have tried it a half dozen times. On the aborted attempts, another vehicle drove up waiting for me to get out of the way. It's an interesting...

Ford electric vehicle owners are getting a charging experience upgrade

Right now I have five different APPS on my smartphone for various different chargers. It would seem nice to be able to consolidate everything and do it all from the vehicle's infotainment system. However, I can understand the concern regarding pricing issues. Hopefully that will get sorted out.

    Navigation preference Ford or Apple?

I am an Android user and almost always use Waze via Android Auto. (AA) I really like the appearance of the Waze navigation screen. I was once out in the boonies and couldn't connect via AA. The Ford system came through for me; nice to have it. I used to like the appearance of the Ford maps...

    Mach-E flawlessly circles Lake Michigan w/ 2 tweens & a puppy

What a great trip report; thanks for posting it! I live in Wisconsin and fully understand your frustrating with available EV charging. I took a recent trip to Door County and decided to leave my Mache home and take my wife's ICE because of the lack of DC chargers in the Green Bay area. I've...

Buying the Best EV Under $60,000: I Tested the Ford Mustang Mach-E, Tesla Model Y, Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Others

Joanna Stern of the Wall Street Journal just posted a review of available EVs as both a news article and an associated video. After looking at five of the leading electric compact SUVs: Ford’s Mustang Mach-E, Hyundai’s Ioniq 5, KIA's EV6. Tesla’s Model Y and Volkswagen's ID.4., she narrows the...

    Coming soon: BlueCruise 1.3

Yeah, when technology moves into the realm of advertising, things like this tend to pop up. I'm assuming that Ford's testing shows the time BC is disengaged has decreased to 1/3rd of what was typically experienced by the previous BC version. And somebody turned this around to state that the...

    Coming soon: BlueCruise 1.3

This sounds like great news. Frankly, I've been waiting for confirmation that I've received version 1.2. My opportunity to use Bluecruise is somewhat limited right now because of major construction work on the freeway that I typically take. How do I tell what version of BC I'm running?

Game changer if true: Toyota Touts Solid State EVs With 932-Mile Range, 10-Minute Charging by 2027

Of course they are going to tout this. They are late to the game, having bet upon hybrids and hydrogen. Their shareholders staged a revolt. Management is attempting to regroup. So, they need to make this claim to show their constituents something. No charging systems will meet this...

    Friggin "music" turn off ?

This headlight 'bug' needs to get fixed by Ford. It seems that every update causes the headlight setting to be ignored, such that headlights stay on until the switch is moved back to its automatic setting. I've had it occur at least three times now--once at the dealer following service.

Rain = Pads stuck to rotors

I'm not an expert, but it looks like the repairs resolved the immediate issue. Your braking should be effective, etc. But if you experience a recurrence, print out and bring along the TSB and make sure they replace the pads as well as renew the disks. IMHO, of course. Tom

Rain = Pads stuck to rotors

IMHO, I think you need to have the brake pads replaced--but it should be under warranty per the Technical Service Bulletin (22-2023).

Rain = Pads stuck to rotors

I found the TSB. It looks like it covers vehicles built "on or before 6-Jan-2022." Mine was built in July 2021, so it looks like it applies. The TSB is 22-2023 issued 14Mar2022. It's available here: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2022/MC-10209201-0001.pdf I may take my vehicle in to the...

Rain = Pads stuck to rotors

I've experienced this issue; have less than 5K on the odometer. One of my brake rotors has grooves from where the pad must have broken off a piece. Can someone provide info on the TSB that covers this issue?

Is there a way to pre-condition interior prior to leaving without going through the entire scheduling process?

Is there a way to pre-condition interior prior to leaving without going through the entire scheduling process?

I note the correct responses. Remote start does a nice job of warming the interior of the vehicle prior to departure. However, I would like to ask a followup question: Is it possible to precondition the battery prior to departure without setting up a scheduled departure time in the App? The...

Why Does My Vechicle Occasionally Charge to 100 Percent?

I've had my Mach-e (2001 AWD Extended Range Premium) for a full year now--just got a note from the dealer telling me it had a birthday last week. I have set up the charging routine to charge to 85 percent and only when my electric rates are lower (7PM to 7AM weekdays and any time on weekends)...

    How do I tell a '23 from a '22 on the street?

Assuming you use Android Auto or the Apple equivalent, you can simply stream your AM radio station from iHeart Radio. That way, you can even listen to your home radio station when you are traveling out-of-state.

    Mach-E Getting Better and Better

I'm not having those issues at all, although I'm an Android user. Android Auto used to be glitchy for me initially (wouldn't always load), but I'm finding it has been almost flawless the last six months. And I really like the convenience of having it connect wirelessly.
