Notice how the new NY Inspection stickers include your current mileage. Never did in the past- that info now goes to NY State. Only a matter of time till they start taxing us all per-mile driven, now that they can measure it. Going to enjoy the freebee we're getting at the moment, cause it won't...
Clearly this situation is fluid- not entirely unexpected since they have to recall so many cars. My GTPE was built in September of ā21, and after 17k miles my HVBJB was recently replaced with the remanufactured (RM, presumably more robust) part late in September ā23. A month later, in late...
Iām in the same boat as you, Mark, but this TSB from August leaves me with a question- my replacement part, as shown on my work order last month, and I assume yours, has the āRMā (for ReManufacured) at the end of the part number. However, this August TSB refers to these specific parts (with the...
That was pretty much my timeframe- Towed into Ford Monday 9/11; got it back all done Friday 9/22. I was lucky enough to get a loaner car too (Ford Escape).
They told me the RM on the end of the number in the TSB stands for re-manufactured. Not necessarily starting with prior failed parts, as unused replacement parts were also āre-manufacturedā with better contactors. No way to know exactly what got put into my car, though I suspect most of the...
The tech told me that the āremanufacturedā junction boxes had more heavy duty contactors installed, hence a different part identifier than the originals (as shown in the August TSB). Obviously if they use an even better part on the recall, Iāll be on line at the dealer for that.
Had mine replaced just 3 weeks ago- with the re-manufactured part, according to the part number on the work order. I have a '21 GTPE. I was one of those cases they refer to with no warning, and where it wouldn't start on the next key cycle. Thankfully I was home at the time. As mentioned in a...
Just changed my vote above- Got my GTPE back today with a new LK9Z10C666BRM (from TSB 23-2257, August, '23) Junction Box. Whole process not too bad with my dealer- 9/10 at noon I get the message of death in the car- Ford skynet calls me 10 minutes later and sends a tow truck to my garage on...
The TSB (23-2257) from last month outlining the replacement parts refers to cars built prior to March 17th, 2023, so Iām not sure that June 2022 date is solid for upgraded contactors. Who really knows how many original batteries they had piled up in parts inventory before the upgrade?
I have not heard confirmation yet from the dealer, though the call I got from Ford central 10 minutes after the SSN message suggested it probably was. Doubt it was the 12 volt, as alarm went off when lifted for tow, and the doors and lights were all still working when I left it at the dealer...
I'm at 17,700 miles, with no problems at all prior to this. To be honest, I'm glad it finally happened. The Tech I spoke with, who has his own '23 GTPE, thinks this latest replacement part has been remanufactured to the level necessary to handle the power effectively. Fingers crossed.
Well, time to change my vote.
Early Sunday (9/10) I did a usual 50 mile round trip in my '21 GTPE (17,700 miles), then plugged in, in my garage, using the Ford mobile charger at 240, as I always do. Came back to the car 2 hours later, as we were heading out for a lunch party, and noticed the...
For goodness sakes it's a Ford- You should see the panel gaps on my '17 Mustang GT convertible!š On that I paid for the Coyote and the Performance Pack, not perfect panels. On My GTPE I paid for tech, magnaride, brembos, and quickness (and the GrabberBlue paint). I prefer to focus on the fun...
Interestingā¦ went in today with my ā21 GTPE to have my summer wheels/tires swapped in, and when I picked up the car the sheet showed they did 22B28 as well. Cost nothing for the update. I looked back at prior OTA updates, and though Iāve had several, saw I donāt have a confirmation on 3.6.1...
