Another EV buyer cheated by the dealership model

A few years ago, I had to take a residential community to small claims court in order to get back a ā€˜non-refundableā€™ deposit (long story). After they got served, we never actually went to court. We settled and they gave me back my full deposit, along with a reimbursement of all my court fees. I...

Another EV buyer cheated by the dealership model

If they donā€™t refund your $5K deposit then take them to court. Small claims should work. They canā€™t just hold on to your money when they havenā€™t provided you with a product or service. Once theyā€™ve been served, theyā€™ll know you mean business and theyā€™ll cut that refund check quickly.

MME at a local car show.

I think itā€™s great that you guys did this. Actions like these will get people more educated (and hopefully more interested) in EVs ?? ?

Changes to the tax credit is in the works

I see your point regarding rebates. Interesting take ? Here in California, in order to keep the entire CVRP state rebate, which you get roughly 3 months after purchase, you have to keep the EV (and continue living in the state) for at least 30 months. Otherwise, you have to give the money back...

    Love letter to Ford

This is the approach that VW took with the ID4, which has been both praised and criticized. And I get it. Us EV nerds love all that tech stuff, but itā€™s probably not best for the general public. Ford will inevitably make adjustments though.

Changes to the tax credit is in the works

I like the idea of giving people a credit or rebate towards their new EV, if they are trading in an ICE vehicle to get it. It could sort of work like Cash For Clunkers, but it would be rebranded for EVs. I propose calling this new program ā€˜Gifts For Gas Guzzlersā€™. Or simply, ā€˜Gifts 4 Guzzlersā€™.

Changes to the tax credit is in the works

I agree. And itā€™s an interesting topic worthy of debate. But itā€™ll get closed eventually ??ā€ā™‚ļø

Better yet, it should be an instant point-of-sale rebate.

SoCal Ford Dealers (got any recommendations?)

I test drove the Mach-E at Airport Marina- also in Feb. My gut feeling was to exit that dealer as quickly as possible, and so I did!

The model Y still has the edge for me....

This makes me wonder how things will look a decade from now, when Tesla still has their own charging network (and standard) while every other automaker on Earth uses CCS ?

The model Y still has the edge for me....

Because the OP bothered to spend time posting about his decision in our forum. If he didnā€™t want our opinions, or our pushback, he wouldnā€™t have bothered.

The model Y still has the edge for me....

Seriously! No CarPlay, no SiriusXM, and no AM radio in the Model Y. I need those entertainment options- especially on a road trip.

Jim Farley Talks Mach-E, F-150 and EV Development with The Verge

Totally agree. Although GM did change their logo so that the negative space below the ā€˜Mā€™ looks like an electric plug ? GM also has stated that they plan to go fully electric by (I think 2030?) But so far the results are lacking. As both a former Volt and current Bolt owner, Iā€™m disappointed...

Jim Farley Talks Mach-E, F-150 and EV Development with The Verge

Iā€™m really impressed by Ford right now. I think with the Lightning reveal, they might have taken the ā€˜legacy leadā€™ in the EV space. Meaning, of all the legacy automakers (Tesla isnā€™t legacy), they are the one turning the most heads. Before the Lightning reveal, I considered GM and VW to be in...

So, President Biden is here at the Rouge right now…

Okay, this is my response to both you and Fat Mach. This will be my last post regarding this subject/thread, as quite frankly- I'm over it: I said ā€œtypically,ā€ thatā€™s not nearly the same as ā€œall.ā€ Thanks for clearing that up  But seriously, you did make a statement earlier that you...

Apartment renting isnā€™t just for people with low incomes. Hereā€™s a list of people who might rent for reasons other than their income: 1) young people 2) single people 3) people who live in cities 4) people who are recently separated/divorce 5) people who recently moved to a new location 6)...

No thanks. I prefer having something to do while DC Fasting. Perhaps place them near parks so I can walk my dog and get some exercise/fresh air while charging? Thatā€™d be nice.

So, President Biden is here at the Rouge right now…

Iā€™m going to ignore your initial obnoxious statement. I charge at public stations. There are several within walking distance of my apartment. Before the pandemic I charged at work. Yes, I charge at Walmart. Just the other day I did a DC Fast while shopping. I actually agree with you regarding...

So, President Biden is here at the Rouge right now…

Are you kidding me?! I live in an apartment building and I own a BEV- and I canā€™t charge at home! My best friend also owns a BEV and canā€™t charge at home (because he lives in an apartment)! What a ridiculous statement.
