I have kept careful track of my actual mi/kWh over a year and a half, and I find that I lose about 0.3 mi/kWh for every 10 degree drop in temperature. 30-35% less in winter is not out of line for where I live in northern Ohio.
Mine just spent 11 days there. Took it in for the Windshield/Roof recall repair and the glass cracked during the process. They had to order a replacement which, fortunately, arrived the following week.
I have had my Mach-E Premium AWD ER for 8 months now. I have about 8,700 miles on it. I had one issue that required a dealer visit - my audio system stopped working. They did a software update and fixed the problem (and gave me a free loaner to use while they did this). Nothing else I would...
My data, in NE Ohio. Note that I spend quite a bit of time sitting in the car in the early morning (when it is quite cold) with the heat on, so my example is probably exaggerated. Premium AWD ER.
I have this problem as well. My roof was not installed level from side to side, such that on the passenger side there is about a 1/4 inch or slightly more elevation of the roof relative to the windshield (and in the rear as well). This results in noticeable wind noise from the right side at...
In Ohio, with Progressive, Mach-E is one of three cars, clean driving record. Mach-E portion is $404 per year, vs. $331 for a 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid and $303 for a 2013 Honda Accord. 250/500/100 coverage, $500 deductibles. 16-year-old takes his driver's test on Friday though...
The Guess-O-Meter tries to estimate range based on how you are driving. If most of your driving is local, you'll generally get higher estimates that if you are driving on the highway. If you live somewhere where it gets cold, you'll see the GOM range start to decline as it gets colder.
173 miles each way (OH à PA), one charge at a free level 2 charger in a state park.
325 miles each way (OH à IN; mostly I-71 & I-70). Three DCFC at Electrify America Stations.
465 miles each way (OH à NY; mosly I-80). Five DCFC (all Electrify America) and a little level 2 charging.
Out of the...
I do! But that helps me maintain a constant speed and it is a built-in function with no extra cost. Likewise, the intelligent cruise control already in the car can keep the car in a lane, at speed, with automatic braking, etc. All the BlueCruise seems to add to that is the ability to take my...
So if the advantage is that I can take my hands off the wheel, but still have to be vigilant, then what is the value here? I would totally get this if I could find the value beyond keeping my hands down vs on the wheel. I figure I'm missing some important detail.
Premium AWD Extended Range. Got it April 4th. That's an average efficiency of 3.4 Mi/kWh so far. Note that this is mostly local driving, just one trip 175 miles each way in July. Just did my first DC Fast Charge today (as a test for a road trip). All other charging has been at home except...
I also did my first one today. Stopped at a 350 kw EA charger in Mentor, OH. Turned off the car, plugged in the charger, tapped a button on the screen, and that's all it took. The Fordpass app notified me that it had reached 80%, I hit the button next to the charger and disconnected, and it...
This is what makes me a little nervous. I have >3,000 miles on my MME and have yet to DCFC. But I'm planning a drive from NE Ohio to Indianapolis and back and the distance between DCFC chargers is 50-110 miles. Although I have a relatively early build I haven't really had any problems so far.
The most disappointing part of this to me is that CR always evaluates fuel economy on its own and disdains the EPA ratings. The text of the review suggests that they did not do so for these EVs and are basing judgments on the EPA ratings. Strangely out of character.
Perhaps someone out there with coding experience can explain this, but I can't think of a single reason why a digital display needs to skip digits. For the mi/kwh readout, you never see 2.9, 3.0, 3.2, 3.4, 3.6, etc. Why?
