Guess it suggests then there are still manufacturing defects making it through either with TE or with the HVBJB. I still personally want to blame the firmware on the BECM. I know there are some very strong opinions on the subject though. If I was Ford I'd be looking into similar contactors...
Is there an uptick in these again? Last update I got was about precondition batteries before charging if you've setup a route with the navigator. Are there any similar updates to those recently impacted that might bring attention to how very much the software can impact the stability of this car?
I was kinda surprised to see such a thread here so I read through about half the posts. I just wanted to point out a few things. Stock buybacks used to be illegal for a reason. These autoworkers have a right to be upset and demand more. I don't have any reason to doubt this information but 0.19%...
I'm not a mechanic but I wonder if a non EV would've been totaled with that damage. I'm also hoping the cost of repairing these things goes way down after the market gets more flooded with them.
I'm in a lower rate overnight so I just charge at night. It's surprising how many people that own or rent EVs that don't know the charging rules. On my last road trip I ran into someone with an EV work van charging. As expected it dropped down to only 20kw once he reached 80% and he apparently...
I just assumed it was due to current auto loan rates and nothing to do with EVs really, same with no marketing if you're expecting sales to go down on your more expensive cars why bother.
Not according to Ford. Mine was replaced when my 12v died and the guy on this forum looking into these things really thought I'd see a HVBJB failure or get one soon after but that was a while ago now. They replaced the 12v, the BECM, and discharged the HVB to inspect two cells that had an odd...
roundtrip flight to Europe or not touching a steering wheel for part way for a fraction of my day trips...um right. I'm still saying I would've been happy with a box/battery/engine just to ditch gas....800 bucks guess there goes that gas savings.
everyone quick stop buying stuff! That'll showem! As a software guy myself people are spoiled today. Everything is super cheap cause 90% is built on free open source...which ironically started because software devs were tired of the lockin SDK/API subscription models and horrid IBM/MS.
I for...
Maybe this will be declared illegal as states interfering with interstate commerce since that belongs to the federal gov.
As far as lack of capacity on the grid, we're well overdue to start building new nuclear power plants that have better safety than anything that has failed so far. Not to...
while big oil might not have a place in the future EV world...maybe gas station attendants do. These things fail constantly it looks like and need constant babysitting. I think the issue with CCS is that it needs to support so many other cars, not just tesla. I've seen one cross section of a...
I have limited DCFC exposure but the one 3k road trip I did I checked the planned charging stops reviews in the app the day before to make sure no one was reporting a problem with each planned stop. Sometimes I would use ABRP and some states required their own app. By the end of the trip I had 7...
I reached out to them today. They don't bite, quite friendly and eager to help. I asked about the differences between 2406901-4 and 2342963-4 which according to prior posts should be one of the main contactors for both the new on standard range and old but I'm unsure if the old part # is...
So let's say you're Ford and you have a 0.58% failure rate on something that your engineers are telling you can be fixed with a software patch vs doing a 144 million dollar recall....what do you do?
From my perspective there is no evidence the new part is improved in any way, they might have...
