If they hit these specs (3 usable rows), 350 miles of range on a 100 kWh battery (!), and DCFC rates in that range, that will be very impressive. Very impressive.
We really like our 2021 Mach-E, so all else being equal, we would keep the Mach-E at the end of our Options term. We are at the point though where we would benefit from having a car with a (usable) third row, so we may consider getting the Volvo EX-90.
Sorry to hear that. We stopped at that EA location—once on the way and once coming back—while on a trip to Joshua Tree from LA a few months ago. No problems either time.
We’ve had ours for a year and I can’t remember any. Unfortunately, we did experience some when we had our Bolt. I think it was the combination of it being an EV and being a smaller car.
It’s absolutely a competitor for the Mach-E. They’re similarly sized 4-doors with hatches in the same price range. If it was available when we needed to buy, we would have heavily considered it. I would be quite pleased with the IONIQ 5’s quick charging and ventilated seats. Pluses for the...
There’s a lot to like about the IONIQ 5, especially at that price. I like some things about the Mach-E better, like some parts of the interior and the larger amount of cargo space, but the IONIQ 5’s much faster DCFC charge rate would be very nice to have.
The CA Rt 1 RWD’s range is better than the EPA rating. We’ve owned ours since April and driven over 7K miles, a mix of city and highway. Over that time we have averaged 4.1 miles/kWh, or 360 miles of range.
Similar experience for us here while staying in Palm Springs over the summer in ~110 degree temperatures. I never noticed the car getting any hotter than any other car I’ve owned or driven in after it sits outside in the heat. If anything, it was better.
Congrats! Regarding the pano roof, one of my concerns prior to buying ours was that it’d heat up in the cabin more than I was used to here in Southern California, or be uncomfortably bright. After going through a full summer with it, it simply hasn’t been an issue for us. The cabin hasn’t been...
This topic is beat to death, but one more point of reference for our CA Rt 1. We drove up to Big Bear Lake here in Southern California from LA County today, 180 miles round trip and up to about 7K elevation. Today was hot - 100 degrees, so we blasted AC there and back, and drove 70-80 mph on the...
Nothing unusual really. In fact, I’ve seen less than when we had our Bolt. People tended to try to cut us off more, etc, in the Bolt, presumably because it looks like an econobox.
Levine clarified on Twitter that through curves BlueCruise may prompt the driver to put their hands on the wheel, but lane centering would be active. So provided your speed isn’t too high to go through the curve, lane centering should handle it. Not ideal, but not a big deal either.
We have a CA Rt 1 and live in Southern California, and have absolutely loved the car. Other than the PaaK finickiness, we have had zero real issues. The forums are not necessarily representative of how people feel about their cars.
It all depends on the outside temperature, if you are driving up inclines, if you are driving mostly highway or surface streets, how fast you drive, etc, but - in normal temperatures and with normal driving, EPA ratings are accurate.
As one data point, over 4K miles, 50/50 highway and city here...
She’s not a troll. Whatever you think is happening with her car, she’s an enthusiastic new owner who’s been participating in Mach-E forums for a while. There’s no need to be rude.
We haven’t had any issues with ours in Southern California. I do notice more light inside now that it’s summer, but it isn’t a bad thing at all - and I hate having sun in my face.
We haven’t noticed any heat coming from it, or more heat in the cabin, even when we were in Palm Springs for a few...
We owned a 2019 Bolt which we replaced with the Mach-E. We liked it quite a bit; it has good acceleration, its one-pedal equivalent works well, drives smoothly, CarPlay on it was good, and for being a small car, it has decent room. We had two car seats in the backseat without issue.
The...
FWIW, we bought from Fritts Ford in Riverside. They accepted Ford Options. They quoted MSRP plus $2,900 total markup. That was $3K markup, plus $900 of stupid dealer add-ons, less $1.1K of what they said was a Ford rebate but I think was just forgivance of destination fee. We negotiated $500 off...
These results are pretty interesting. I averaged 3.7 mi/kWh over 500 miles, 90% of it freeway driving at 70+ mph, while going to Palm Springs recently. The other 10% was driving around town in Palm Springs for short durations with AC blasting. Driving out to Riverside last weekend I averaged 3.5...
