  1. Would you pay $75/month or $800/year for BlueCruise hands free highway driving? This will be option for 2023 Mach-E

The self driving feature is only useful on long trips which for me happens about 4-5 times each year. Not worth more than $100 per year to me.
  2. Programmers - why so many bugs?

I worked my entire life in the the technology industry. I was not a programmer but worked closely with them. I bought a First Edition the day it was released and knew I was going to be an early adopter and would have to deal with problems as they learned how to make an electric car. The...
  3. Lessons learned driving 2756 miles

Wow that is great news. I can't imagine why their web page does not do it. I wish I would have known this. Funny that the hotel people were clueless about the phone app feature. Just looked at the app. Very cool feature as it shows the route and all the matching hotels with price. Would...
  4. Lessons learned driving 2756 miles

I used Plug share to locate all high speed chargers near the hotel. Most were chargepoint locations and a few EVgo. All the hotels confirmed the chargers were working and always available when called the week before our trip.
  5. Lessons learned driving 2756 miles

I did look at ABRP. The problem with all the EV trip planners is they can't account for hotel charging so they want you to stop more often. So then you end up breaking your trip into days drives.
  6. Best trip planner for charging stations

I use Apple Maps and build guides for my trips. I have the following apps on y phone to help find stations and hotels Plugshare EA app Chargepoint EVgo ABRP Chargeway - helps great basic plan I build on Chargehub EV
  7. Lessons learned driving 2756 miles

We decided to go to Marco Island in February in our extended range First Edition MachE. The trip went as planned which required about 15 hours of planning. I used Apple maps and the Guide feature to build the trip with all planned stops at high speed chargers and the hotels. Since we are...
  8. Poll: Have you gotten OTA 4.1.2 (the UI refresh)?

I was on 3.5.4 as well but received the 4.1.1 on the night of the 18Th and 4.1.2 during the next day after a few short trips around town.. I never received any notification about the 3.6.x updates so I don't know if they were installed. The user interface improvements are very nice. Don't car...
  9. Dead Screen, Reset Does NOT Work

There are updates to the software that may fix this issue. Get it in.
  10. Charging error

My car had this same problem. It started about 9 months after buying the car. I took it into Ford for the recall and told them about several issues including this one. They updated several software modules beyond the 21P22. I have only had the car back for two weeks but so far so good. I...
  11. 2.5.2…

it is so disappointing that Ford can not understand the importance of software release notes. These cars are all about the software and yet they can't tell us what changes they made like every other software company does. By letting us know what has changed we can see if a problem or bug has...
  12. Ford Email - Software Updates. Anyone else get this?

I received this letter today and there was an update on the car. As usual, there was no information on what was installed.
  13. So many negative posts

I own a first edition and early production car. I love the car. You will find every review of the car being very positive and I agree. It is fun to drive. Ford does not provide a direct way to give them feedback so the forums are our best channel to them. The only concern I have about the...
  14. 12/17 Updates Released

This is my third update in 2021 from Ford. Tesla has issued 39 OTA updates. We are starting to catch up!
  15. Hardwired vs plugged charger. Which way to go?

I bought a first edition back in March and had a 240 outlet installed in the garage and use the Ford charger. It will fully charge the battery overnight. Don't waste the money on another charger.
  16. The windshield, roof recall went out last nite.

I can confirm that the dealers do not know what to do yet. I booked an appointment via the recall notice and Ford app. Then called the dealer to confirm they could do the work. They said they could. When I got there they informed me that they could not do the work yet. Really frustrating...
  17. Ford's Software Release Rhythm

You have stated the problem perfectly. If Ford wants to be an EV car company long term, they need to focus on the software and customer support. I love the physical car and based upon news articles they are doing everything right to keep improving the mechanical parts of the car, it is what...
  18. OTA Power Up 1.7.1 preview

I hope Ford does not include lots of changes and fixes. I would hope they would put out more smaller updates so that each update can be tested and fixed. Based upon the updates so far a big update could be a real mess.
  19. FordPass 3.26 is out

No release notes. Ford still does not seem to understand how to release new versions of software.
  20. Another Weekend Trip, Another problem

I would disagree with you about the computer. It is all about the computer. There are very few reported body problems. Most of the issues here revolve around software which is not a strong suit for traditional car companies. EVs are all about the software. Ford is going to have to up their...
