An unfortunate day indeed, but while I love my Mach-E, I will be getting rid of it this week as it just doesn't make sense financially for me to have a car where I live (Washington, DC) and how little I use it (once a week, at best). That said, with this car being connected to so many services...
I believe I didn't wire it to switched power because I wanted it to be able to record during parking mode, while the dashcam has a battery it is pretty abysmal. I followed this tutorial back in 2021. Luckily, I have not had any issues that have brought the 12v completely down to an unusable state.
Do you have any accessories installed or things plugged into the USB ports while you aren't driving? I have a dashcam that shuts off shortly after parking but sometimes it freezes and continues to pull power, whenever I get that notification I know it means my dashcam locked up so I go out and...
Do you just swap back and forth between interfaces when there's not a feature in the new version that you need/want to use? New one is... a little barebones.
Even with stickers or transponders in the right place it was seemingly 50/50 on my sticker being scanned so I bought (?) one of the transponders that attaches to my front plate. It was almost 2 years ago at this point, so maybe it was free when I loaded my account, not sure, but if you have to...
Went through a Texas summer with it and had no issues, at least it didn't feel any hotter than my previous vehicle which just had a "standard" sized sunroof (Ford Fusion Titanium). Was usually in a parking lot outside during the day in a spot with little or no shade.
The battery complained that...
See, I'd rather have bigger CarPlay than the tiles.
You know when I look at the tire pressure monitor? When it says there's an issue with low tire pressure. I don't need it visible the entire trip. Same for energy efficiency, I'm not trying to hypermile over here, the only time I've ever looked...
The way I understood is that OP is just streaming it vs. using the built-in SXM tuner. The Streaming package is cheaper than Car + Streaming, and honestly the streamed quality is better through the app, you just gotta make sure you're always within cell coverage.
How so? From this page, emphasis mine:
"Eligible 2022 Ford vehicles receive three years of access to Alexa Built-in and 30-days of complimentary streaming media services that begin on the new vehicle warranty start date, after which fees apply."
"Access to Alexa requires an Amazon account...
If you use SiriusXM through Alexa (asking the car "Alexa, listen to Alt Nation") then you do need Ford Streaming. Streaming media requests require Ford Streaming, regular requests like "Alexa, what's the weather in Boston?" or "Alexa, turn on my kitchen lights." do not.
If you use SiriusXM...
This is a great video showing lots of improvements coming to the UI, can't wait for it!
Now, which do I get first: this or a functioning Frunk button in FordPass?
Once I get around to requesting the second fob (someone showed in another thread showed the customer satisfaction program # I could have for reference when talking with a dealer) I am buying a Lightning key and setting that up since we can do it ourselves.
Us with 2021 Job 1 cars don't have a frunk button. Should hopefully have it by the end of this year as the updates trickle down, people who manually update their cars with FDRS have gotten it in a semi-working state (button shows on the center console screen, not yet in FordPass yet).
