There are silver metal clips at the end of each pad between the pad and caliper. There are also springs on the top of the pads to hold them in place vertically. I am only seeing springs on top of the inside pad, but may just not be able to see the outside pad without removing a wheel. I...
I should have had them check the rear pads. It is similar to when you lost one of those thin metal shims on the rear calipers that hold the pads in place to prevent NVH on past ICE Mustangs. Could the sound be traveling through the axle to the center of the vehicle? I should have had them...
I did. It's similar, but can't say it's the same for sure. I only seem to have it under higher acceleration and higher g braking than what I saw in your video.
I have a similar issue that I posted about in this thread: GTPE clunk under rear seat during hard acceleration or braking | MachEforum - Ford Mustang Mach-E Forum, News, Owners, Discussions
I brought it to the dealer and they replaced one rear strut which didn't solve the problem. Then they...
I have a clunk from what I think is the rear axle under hard acceleration or braking. The dealer says it's from directly below the rear seat (close to the axle to me?) I posted a thread about it and have yet to hear back from the dealer. The last report was that Ford engineering is looking...
Most of the Fords I've owned in the past few years do this occasionally. I haven't been able to figure out the sequence that causes it. Yes it's sometimes annoying, but not a huge deal to hit the memory button quickly to correct it. The only problem is if you're already underway, you have to...
Well they're stymied at this point. They reassembled it and are turning it back to me for now. The issue has been taken over by engineering, but the dealer said it could be a couple months or more before they have a solution. They did notice they could replicate the issue in a Premium they...
I'm not familiar with the Camaros on track because we frankly didn't see many of them. I would agree completely on the Vette. It also benefits from better aero, and a significantly better power to weight ratio. Big heavy muscle cars tax the entire system a lot more than Vettes or Porsches.
I spent time on the track with one of the engineers running B302 lap times below the track's benchmark time to carve your name in the table. I told him we were having issues keeping the cars cool, and he was surprised saying they were thoroughly tested preproduction, and didn't overheat. After...
My bad didn't mean for it to come across that way. I appreciate the link to the other thread and makes me wonder if it's related to the half shaft issue, just in the rear.
Yes rattles and squeaks can be tough to pinpoint. This is something substantial. I've broken most of the parts on cars at the track to know it's almost certainly mechanical. It doesn't seem catastrophic, but something's not right.
Interesting. The posts all claim the noise is in the front and usually while turning so clearly different issue. Most point to faulty half shafts though. Are the front and rear half shafts the same?
