  1. 2023 Mach-E priced over $55K & delivered in 2023 will not qualify for tax credit! Latest IRS ruling says Mach-E is a CAR - not SUV !

You appear to have looked wrong. All the VW AWD models appear to be classified as SUVs. The reason for this, from what I can see, is due to the weight and height of the AWD versions of the vehicle. From the guidelines: "(b) An automobile capable of off-highway operation, as indicated by the...
  2. New Mach-E vs ID.4 Comparo Review

The ID.4 also has the raised cargo floor, which can also be lowered. My understanding is so the cargo floor is level with the rear seat backs, when they are lowered.
  3. Tesla releases big new software update

It doesn't seem like that is a false statement, the Porsche 911 does have a small trunk. Every reviewer has things they believe are important and, part of the key to understanding reviews, is to understand the priorities of the reviewer. CR is pretty upfront about how they review and score...
  4. Mach E or VW Id.4

I was going off your comment, " well, the id4 doesn't really use regen." So, no, you didn't say that the ID.4 didn't use regen but that implies it doesn't really use regen. And, to correct another point, the ID.4 gets up to 0.25g regenerative braking -- the 0.13g is the amount in one pedal...
  5. Mach E or VW Id.4

The idea that the ID.4 does not use regen is false. What it doesn't have is a one pedal drive mode, instead it has the "B" mode which seems to be tuned to decelerate similar to a car with a transmission slowing it down, so a softer "braking" regen. Instead, for the ID.4, the regen is in the...
  6. VW ID4 charging curve from three different ID4 vehicles

I'll be interested to see how things look under the hood of the AWD version. I would guess that with the motor under the hood it will be somewhat tighter. Yes, they could have put a somewhat small frunk under the hood and I'd even argue they should have put one where you could fit the charging...
  7. VW ID4 charging curve from three different ID4 vehicles

From what I've found, there are two major reasons for the lack of frunk in the ID.4. First, is to keep the hood short and maximize the interior room. Remember the ID.4 is a "world" car with most being sold in European markets, where smaller cars with short hoods are desirable -- you don't want...
  8. Munro is not happy with the Mach-E, back in Tesla fanboy mode

But that doesn't invalidate the point Sandy was making. Ford could still cast most of those pieces into a single tub, with some type of cover or other mechanism so that you can get to the 12V battery, fuse panel (which Munroe thinks should be replaced with circuit breakers, which don't need to...
  9. Munro is not happy with the Mach-E, back in Tesla fanboy mode

Actually, that was the point about the tub. Tesla molds the "covers" as part of the tub, which is why he only showed the tub. He's pointing out that one part in the Tesla was about 10 parts on the Mach E, and Ford would have a better product if they molded those covers (or at least most of them)...
  10. Let’s hope the Mach-E isn’t susceptible to requiring the same machinations if the system battery dies!

There is also a YouTube video of how to open up the Mach E with a dead 12V battery:
  11. First Mustang Mach E Road Trip ?

My personal thought is to use ABRP first, like you mention, to initially plan the trip. My though is that you then, when you are at a charging station, to use ABRP to see what the next likely charger should be, with it using current conditions to help give you a better guide for the expected...
  12. First Mustang Mach E Road Trip ?

For road trips, I'd recommend A Better Route Planner (ABRP) as the number one app to have, followed by the EA app and Plugshare. There are other fast chargers out there than EA -- for example, I've noticed that, in Oklahoma, the local electric companies have installed fast chargers in some of...
  13. First Mustang Mach E Road Trip ?

I can't agree with this. Electrify America, while owned by VW, is set up as a separate company. Yes, it was started based on "penalty" money that VW had to use because of the Diesel-gate scandal. However, as an independent company they are looking to make a profit, and part of that is expanding...
