Yes. 1000-times yes! @Ford Motor Company , this needs to be in the Mach-E dashboard UI just live every other BEV and PHEV in existence, including your own.
When I had PHEVs (2 Volts and a Fusion Energi), I had a magnet I threw on the side of my car near the charging port that showed others how to know if I was done charging and saying it was fine to unplug me if so. This removed all ambiguity. If I did more road-tripping and charging at hotels, I'd...
v4 = yes (although I've not heard of any of these being deployed in the United States yet)
v3 = no
v2 = no and not CCS compatible so not available to us anyway (or so I've read)
UPDATE: Apparently v4's ARE starting to be deployed in the US now!
Assuming you are talking about Farley's original interviews and announcements where he said the adapter would be "made available". That wasn't clear and those of us skeptical that it would be free had reason to be.
As one of those skeptical bunch, I'm happy they have exceeded my expectations.
Battery health or not, one of the benefits of having an EV is the ability to wake every morning to a "full" (80% for me) charge. Thus, I've always plugged in every moment it's at home. If you wait until it's at a low SOC, you run the risk of not having enough charge if/when an unexpected long...
I finally got the notification that 6.8 is ready - have we determined that Job 1's are okay to take this now (not interested in bricking my car today 🙄)
FWIW, that's worse than the curb rash I had on two wheels when I returned a Ford Fusion Energi lease back in 2017. They charged me $75/wheel at lease return which was cheaper than I could have had them repaired for so I just paid it.
That was 6.5 years ago, and probably less expensive wheels...
If you're talking about the next upcoming navigation advice (turn, exit, etc), Apple Maps CarPlay definitely does show in the driver cluster and has for a long time. (not sure about Waze or Google Maps on CarPlay as I rarely use them, but I thought they did too)
You are correct about the...
Most of us carry the phone everywhere anyway. Unless you are turning off location data they could be tracking location date regardless of which nav you use.
I have been using CarPlay with Apple maps almost exclusively for 2+ years and I don't recall ever seeing an advertisement in it. (unless you are referring to business names that happen to be shown on the map)
IMO, adaptive cruise and lane assist is fine and the simple addition of being able to sometimes take my hand off the wheel is not worth even the discounted price.
Based on the videos I've seen, 1.3 isn't really enough of an improvement to change my mind, and since it appears that they aren't...
I'm not saying I'm not taking any updates - I will be checking and doing it manually for now and checking online to make sure other Job 1 owners have successfully taken the update first. I have no time for a bricked car.
